The
Witching Hour fast approaches, the creatures of Furness Forest begin to
stir as Shadows of a 1000 Years rise again unseen...until the night
of Halloween!"
Day 5 of 31 Days of Halloween
Samara Shadow Faerie
Xtreme Slimline Card
by Leigh
My 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop inspiration for you today is another magical extreme slimline card featuring digi stamps from the Shadows Rising Collection of Digi Stamps and SVG Cutz and an SVG Cutz set from the Steampunk Serengeti Collection!
Samara the Shadow Faerie is also very busy flying around Furness Forest casting spells in preparation for the big night!
I used the "white spell" version of the Shadows of a 1000 Years Spell Digi Stamp for the background of my extreme slimline card and printed it out onto the mixed media background paper I made with Villainous Potion and Salvaged Patina Disress Oxide Sprays. I then cut the panel out using one of the mat layers included in the Serengeti Leaves Layered Frame and Xtreme Slimline Card Cutz set and coloured in the eyes and mouth of the spell's face with a black marker.
I printed Samara the Shadow Faerie then fussy cut her out with a narrow offset using my Silhouette Cameo 4.
I watercolour painted her ragged wings with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink and also added a wash of the ink to the offset surrounding her in a purple halo and applied clear Spectrum Noir glitter ink to her wings and the "white spell" face and leaves for lots of magical shimmer.
Still using my Serengeti Leaves Layered Frame and Xtreme Slimline Card Cutz set I also cut out the leaf overlay frame from black cardstock, the shadow layer from burnt orange cardstock and the large mat layer from purple cardstock. For even more magical sparkle I painted the burnt orange cardstock shadow frame with Spectrum Noir Candlelight Sparkle glitter ink.
I adhered the frame overlay and the shadow layer together then adhered them in place on top of the Shadows of a 1000 Years Spell panel to frame the spell then mounted everything onto the purple mat.
The Serengeti Leaves Layered Frame and Xtreme Slimline Card Cutz set also includes the folded card base, which makes an extreme slimline card that measures 3.5
inches x 9.9 inches, which I cut out of Crafter's Companion textured black cardstock. I adhered all the panels to the card front then mounted Samara the Shadow Faerie with black foam tape for some fun dimension.
