Keeping Los Angeles in our thoughts and prayers!
The Santa Ana winds have been strong by me too with a few wildfires pop up close by that have thankfully been put out swiftly as we now brace for another round of the Santa Ana winds! Please keep Southern California in your thoughts and consider donating to the various organizations supporting the people and animals in need like the American Red Cross and Humane Society of the US.

Raven Tree Slimline Make
by Leigh
I'm kicking off our Poe CREATivities today with a handsome slimline make featuring my new Raven Tree Slimline Silhouette digi stamp, my Poe Portrait digi stamp as well as one of my gorgeous digi decorative papers from the Vintage Grunge Decorative Digi Paper pack.
I designed my slimline make in Photoshop and layered the Raven Tree Slimline Silhouette digi stamp onto the decorative digi paper where I wanted it and also sized the portrait of Poe I needed and layered it off to one side of the decorative paper, on screen, so that I could print all the elements out together on the one sheet of decorative paper.
I trimmed the Raven Tree Slimline Silhouette decorative paper to make an 3.5 x 8.5 slimline background panel then cut mats in various sizes from black cardstock and 2 brown cardstocks with different hues and textures. I adhered the 2 brown mats together with glue, then the decorative background panel to the black mat with glue which I then mounted onto the brown mat stack with black foam tape squares to give the layered panels dimension.
Using one of Scrapbook.com's exclusive nested stitched stamp dies I die cut out the portrait of Poe and kept just the interior rectangle part of his portrait. I then die cut out 4 more of the postage stamp frames from black cardstock and adhered them together to create a nice chunky frame. I adhered the frame to the background panel with glue then adhered Poe's portrait inside the frame.
I got some fun Tim Holtz die sets from my Mom for Christmas and used some of the dies to embellish my slimline make. The spiderweb is from the Vault Fright Night set which I die cut out of black cardstock and adhered it to the top right corner so that part of the web extends out beyond the edge of the panel.
Next I used the Alphanumeric Stretch Lower and Numbers die set to die cut out the letters to spell POE from black cardstock 4 times to create extra chunky letters and the top layer of the letters is cut from a scrumptious brown suede like leather paper by Sizzix.
Also from the Vault Fright Night set I die cut the tombstone scene 3 times from black cardstock to make a nice chunky border element which I adhered along the bottom edge of the slimline panel.
To complete my make I cut a 4 x 9 inch slimline background panel from heavy weight black cardstock and created a simple hinged easel stand for the back with a slight angle to it to allow the make to stand nicely on its own.
I do hope you'll visit us each day and enjoy our Poe makes and be inspired to join in on our mini Poe Hop. All the info and the linky are below!
