Tee is joining us today as Guest Designer with her POEtastic inspirational card for our January Challenge SNOW or POE❄️

 

Tee used the Winter Raven for her card which she coloured with Caliart markers.  She then used Distress Ink on the sky background and gray pencil to create shadowing.  Tee used Nuvo Crystal Drops and a white gel pen on the wings to highlight and add sparkle and also used the gel pen to add detail to the flowers.  She matted the Winter Raven panel onto black cardstock and then a white folded card base.

I've had lots of fun playing with Tim's Stacked Tags dies for this hop and here's one more for my finale project featuring the gorgeous and mysterious The Winter Raven.

I printed The Winter Raven out twice and used one to die cut the main tag panel to create the background and the 2nd to fussy cut out the winged creature.  I used Mustard Seed, Ground Walnut Stain, Tea Dye, Peacock Feathers, Stormy Sky, Weathered Wood, Black Soot and Fired Brick Distress Inks to watercolour paint the background and the Raven with touches of watersoluable crayons and Ranger white gel pen highlights.

Tilt and move the tag and the magical snow storm she's walking through appears!  I created this stunning effect by watering down silver Midas Spectrum Noir gilding wax with water and randomly splattered the painting after I adhered the Raven to the background with black foam tape.

I made the base tag and layer from brown and black cardstock and covered the entire tag with 2 die cuts of Tim's Tangled Twigs to add wonderful texture.

For a fun twist I used Tim's Gearhead dies as "Snowflakes" and Tim's Crochet die to decorate the bottom of the tag and enhance the femininity of the Raven.  I used silver and bronze gilding wax to colour the gears and silver gilding wax to edge all the tags and enhance the crochet too.

I've got a vintage grungy Poe tag for your inspiration today!  It looks like a tarnished copper mirror with Poe's face peering eerily out at us from the rust covered depths!

This tag features the Poe portrait from my Edgar Allan Poe Portrait and Signature set and The Winter Raven.

I reversed the Poe portrait digi for this tag and collaged portions of the poem from The Winter Raven in Photoshop and printed out the design in green ink.  I then die cut the main panel and tag layers using Tim's Stacked Tag dies, black cardstock and brown coloured paper from my stash.  I coloured the collage tag and the brown tag layer with Peacock Feathers, Stormy Sky, Weathered Wood, Tea Dye and Black Soot Distress Inks with touches of watersoluble crayons.

I stamped the "NEVERMORE" text with Midas Bronze metallic pigment Spectrum Noir ink on a piece of black cardstock and edged it and all the tag layers with the same bronze ink.  The rust effect is done with Tim's Grime stencil and Finnabair Art's set of 3 rust pastes.  I then used black foam tape to adhere all the layers and create more drama to the stacked tags.

I'm kicking of the hop today with my POEtastic mixed media tag featuring Poe Portrait and Signature and The Winter Raven.

I decided to flip the Poe portrait digi for this tag and collaged portions of the poem from The Winter Raven in Photoshop and printed out the design.  I then die cut the main panel and tag layers using Tim's Stacked Tag dies, black cardstock and decorative paper from my stash.

I coloured the collage with Mustard Seed, Tea Dye, Walnut Stain and Black Soot Distress Inks.
I applied Brutus Monroe gold embossing powder thickly on the left side and stamped a "Nevermore" text rubber stamp into it while very hot to create the debossed effect.  I then applied EP to the bottom right side using Tim's Decayed stencil.

I embellished the tag with the wooden numbers “19” (painted black) and portions of Tim's Tangled Twigs die (cut from black cardstock).  I then coated the numbers and die cuts with clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint and enhanced the crackle with silver gilding wax.

I had lots of fun creating this vintage mixed media tag and hope it inspires you to create your own Poe themed projects too😉
