13th annual 31 Days of Halloween 2023 Blog Hop and October Challenge #22 WINNERS!

Day 31 of 31 Days of Halloween 2023: "H A L L O W E E N" Wood Decor by Leigh

Today is the big finale of LeighSBDesigns SPOOKtacular month of SPOOKtivities and what a faBOOlous time we've had counting down to Halloween in LeighSBDesigns style!

I've been sharing each panel and giving you peeks at my wood Halloween decor piece for days and now I'm delighted to share the last panel for the big finale of 31 Days of Halloween and reveal the completed piece that spells out the word... H A L L O W E E N 🎃
 
 
Today's #9 panel features a digi stamp from the Halloween 2020 release, a digi stamp and SVG Cutz from the Once Upon a Nightmare 2021 Collection, and a sentiment digi stamp, SVG Cutz and Decorative Digi Paper from the new THIS IS HALLOWEEN 2023 Collection 🎃
 

I used the largest ATCoffin cut shape from the new FUNdamental Foundations - Artist Trading Coffins Nesting SVG Cutz set to cut the mat layer from Scrapbook.com's orange glitter paper and the 2nd largest to cut my focal panel from a reduced in size print of the purple Halloween Words design included in the This is Halloween Decorative Digi Paper pack on my Silhouette Cameo 4 electronic cutting machine.  I adhered a portion of the Impression Obsession graveyard scene die cut from black cardstock to the bottom edge of the purple ATCoffin and edged the whole panel with Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink then adhered it to the orange glitter mat.
 
 
I reduced the size of my green Halloween Words design included in the This is Halloween Decorative Digi Paper pack to about 4 x 6 inched and cut it out with the largest rectangle die included in the Crafter's Companion Spider Silk die set.  I adhered more of the graveyard scene to the green panel, trimmed off the excess then edged the panel with Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink.
 


The star of panel #9 is Ghost Balleigh Monster coloured with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut it out with scissors leaving a narrow border.  To make Ghostie look like he's emerging out towards us from the graveyard scene I tucked his feet behind the tombstones and secured him to the ATCoffin with a small piece black foam tape just behind his head so he leans forward. 
 
The "This is Halloween" senti is included in the This is Halloween Slimline Bat and 2 Senties Digi Stamp Set.  I fussy cut it out, coloured it with Hickory Smoke Distress ink and adhered it in place with glue.  I then added a tiny Wicked Moon and a cloud cut from Scrapbook.com's white glitter paper from the Once Upon a Moonlit Night Colourize It SVG Cutz set trimmed even smaller with scissors.  I completed the scene with tiny Tim Holtz bats from his Halloween Mixed Media die set cut from black cardstock, a white confetti ghost and 3 metallic gold stars.

I then finished the panel with the letter “N” from the Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Stretch Upper die set cut twice from heavy weight black cardstock and layered to create a nice chunky letter then painted metallic gold with a Sprectrum Noir paint pen - Collector's Edition Set #2.
 
 
 My wood Halloween decor piece is made from 9 pieces of reclaimed wood and brass hinges in an accordion format.  I painted the front panels with pearlescent black acrylic paint leaving the sides and back the raw wood.  I adhered all my Halloween panels to the wood panels with Distress Collage Medium.
