lil miss Oddleigh July 4th is the star of my mixed media tag creation today.  How adorbs is she!!!

She's so cute and super fun to create with and I paired her up with my own handwritten text.
 I'll be adding this lil text story to an upcoming Sentiment Set so stay tuned😉

 I had so much fun creating this fun July 4th scene with all the dimension, texture, sparkle and shimmer....soooo pretty!

I created the background with Wilted Violet, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxides with fun water splats to create the mottled textural effect that I think looks like distant firework lights.  I used Dylusions paint pens to base colour in the Oddleigh Fireworks and then applied Sunny Yellow Viva Pearl 3D gel to the stars and blue and pink glitter glue to the sparks.  I also used black and white Dylusions paint pens to add the fun border to frame the scene as well as her cute checkerboard stockings.



 I coloured lil miss Oddleigh July 4th's hair and face with prismacolor pencils and her eyes, lips, clothes and the USA flag with sparkle gel pens.  For even more shimmer I applied clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to her eyes and eyelashes as well as the highlight areas on her face.  The text is handwritten with a black sharpie fine point pen and mounted on Crafter's Companion heavy weight black cardstock.  I used the same cardstock to die cut out the large Crafter's Companion Contemporary Tag.  To add even more fun shine I used gold Pebeo gilding wax to edge and enhance the stitched design on the black tag as well as frame all the text.  I layered my scene onto the tag with pop dots for some fun dimension and adhered the text with tacky glue.

MerWitch Tag Card

I'm kicking off the hop with this fin-tastic tag card featuring MerWitch from my new Mermaid Collection!  I had lots of fun creating this different "look" for a Halloween project!

MerWitch is wicked cool in purple and yellow!

I coloured her up with Copics, mounted onto black cardstock then fussy cut her out!

Her dramatic ocean stage is a gorgeous die cut tag card with a fabulous 3D shell embossing folder layer.

All the glorious details highlighted in scrumptious gold and silver gilding wax.

 
Doesn't she just scream haute couture style in her witch hat, exoskeleton torso and spiderweb fins!

Copic coloured stamped and die cut shells, starfish and Halloween sentiment caught in a die cut fishing net decorate the bottom of the tag.

The "Happy Halloween" sentiment has a touch of Pumice Stone Distress Ink and Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen for a subtle gold shimmer.

The view of the back is equally yummy!

MerMae Storybook card for Mother's Day by Leigh!

Happy Mother's Day weekend! 

The other day I showed you one of my MerMae colourings in progress and today I'm sharing the finished colouring and the magical project I made with it featuring my new designs, MerMae and 2 of the Ocean Scenery elements, plus, how to get more poses and scenes out of one image😀

 It's so much fun to break up an image and use it in unexpected ways like I did here with MerMae.  By making it look like her tail is curved up I've given her a different pose and the enchanting scene looks like we've caught a glimpse of her swimming by!
 

 Here's the finished colouring done with Prismacolor pencils before I added white gel pen details and glitter accents.  I had a fabulous time colouring this double page spread. 

I made a 3D storybook card for my Mom for Mother's Day using the Storybook die set by Crafter's Companion.  I had so much fun making it💜

The finished Storybook stood on the awesome easel that comes in the die set. 

  I really needed the new Nautical collection by Crafter's Companion for my project but it's still on its way to my eager hands so had to get creative in the meanwhile and pulled elements from various other stamp and die sets in my Crafter's Companion stash:

To capture how truly enchanting this project is in real life with all the magical shimmer was a challenge so here's lots of photos from different angles in different lighting!

Spectrum Noir clear Sparkle pen, Crystal Stickles glitter glue and 3D Viva Pearl blue magic transparent.

Here's a look at the gorgeous easel die cut from CC's Centura Metallic Precious Metals cardstock which I also used for the base of the storybook.  The next page is a gorgeous aquamarine/teal pearlescent cardstock.  I used double sided adhesive foam tape to add dimension to the book pages.

 I love how it turned out and I hope I've inspired you to create your own magical Mermaid scenes!

MerMae is a beautiful realistically drawn fantasy mermaid with flowing hair framing her lovely face and a magical tail with gorgeous fins.
