LeighSBDesigns Art Stamps New Release - Oddleigh Lizard Boy and Spider Set!

Happy Half-O-Ween Stamping Friends!
It's time for another new LeighSBDesigns Art Stamps release🎉

Introducing Oddleigh Lizard Boy and Spider Set!

He's a whimsical stylized caricature portrait of a quirky pointy eared boy with a reptilian tongue and eyes surrounded by creepy branches and leaves.  He comes with a separate digi of a Spider dangling from a leafy branch.  He's the 3rd character in my Oddleigh Family and a must for your Half-O-Ween and Halloween projects😀

He's so wickedly creepy and rather mischievous pretending to eat his BBF, the Oddleigh Spider, in this scene I created...you can tell it's an Oddleigh spider coz it has an "O" on it's abdomen!  I think you guys could have lots of fun with him, besides your creepy projects he would be fun for Birthday cards for boys too😋

He's now available at my Etsy Boutique at an introductory release price for the next 3 days so dash on over and grab him while he's on sale😋
close up of that creepy but cute face!  Eyes are so important and I love making them huge and expressive!  Coloured using Paper 53 and a stylus.

"Lady of the Lake" 3D Paper Art introducing Dark Attic Challenges!

Howzit Everyone!
There's a new challenge blog called Dark Attic Challenges in blogland geared specifically towards the darker side of art and our first challenge starts today!  Dark Attic challenges will always be Anything Goes as long as your projects are of a creepy, dark, alternative nature and will always start on the LAST Tuesday of every month!  I'm thrilled to be a part of this new adventure as a member of a very talented design team!

Our first challenge is sponsored by Delicious Doodles and Shadow Clocksey and my project today features a gorgeous digi called Vivienne Lady of the Lake by

https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ArtiDoodles

I absolutely loved creating my Lillith and the Lillies project the last time I used a Delicious Doodle digi so I couldn't resist creating another 3D paper art piece with this image too!

Lilleth and the Lillies 3D paper art
This 3D paper art piece consists of 3 layers of fussy cut hair, lily pads and the sword.  The finished piece is matted first on black cardstock then colour coordinating blue cardstock and then onto a final black mat.  The layers were all cut with my Perfect Layers tools

I started out by printing the Lady of the Lake digi onto Neenah solar white cardstock and coloured her with Copic markers with highlights added with a white gel pen once the entire piece was completed.  I scanned the coloured image into Photoshop CS6 and printed it out 3 times.  I selected all the elements I wanted to layer and fussy cut out all the pieces which were then adhered in place with a combination of Scotch Quick Dry adhesive and pop dots.  I layered the sword and hands to further enhance the effect that she's reaching out of the depths of the lake and offering it to you.

I completed my piece with 3D shimmery water droplets with a Viva Pearl pen in Magic Transparent White.  The collage photo below shows the layered areas in detail and the shimmery droplets, click on all the photos to enlarge them for a better look.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll come and play in our Dark Attic Challenges!
Before you go I'd like to remind you that I now have 3 new Facebook Groups that you might like to check out if you're into Gothic art, all art genres ending in "-punk" and Egyptian inspired art!

Lady Atlantis - Rick St Dennis EDT!

Hello Everyone!
It's my turn again to share some design team inspiration for the Rick St Dennis EDT over on our Facebook Group, Rick St Dennis Digi Fans and Friends!

This stunning digi stamp by Rick St Dennis Mfa is called Atlantis especially for Miranda and it's available in Rick's Zibbet store HERE!  FYI, in case you haven't heard yet, Zibbet have now introduced immediate digi downloads just like Etsy so you no longer have to wait for your purchase to be emailed to you!  YAY!  Don't you just love that instant gratification even though Rick was on the ball with his emails ;0)  You might recognize the seahorse from this digi, I used him for my Steampunk Seahorse ATC at the beginning of March, check it out HERE if you missed it!

I enjoyed colouring the entire image for today's card project this time which started out in Photoshop CS6.  I duplicated the digi and erased the background leaving me with just the image on a transparent background which I could then layer over my background work.  I drew in my own watery effects...the black bubble/splashes and the subtle blue mottled background as well as the shadows around the image.  I also added some beveled effects to the image also which gives the image a 3D effect.   I then printed out on Neenah cardstock and coloured with Copics including white and metallic silver and gold details added with gel pens.  I used a scalloped lace Fiskars paper punch on all four corners and applied Shaded Lilac Distress Ink to the edges.  The coloured image was then layered onto black cardstock, then colour coordinating blue cardstock and again on a black card made from a sheet of cardstock.  I used my Perfect Layers border tools to cut the perfect borders!  I then completed my project with a touch of 3D shimmer with Magic Transparent White 3D droplets applied with a Viva Pearl pen to the image as well as the punched corners.

Here's a closer look at the details!

Thanks for stopping by to see my project today and hope to see you over at Rick St Dennis Digi Fans and Friends!

Queen of Hearts February Calendar Page - Rick St Dennis EDT!

Hello Everyone!
Today I'm sharing a February wall calendar page with a pocket I made for the Rick St Dennis EDT.
This stunning Queen of Hearts design is by Rick St Dennis Mfa and is a freebie colouring page available for download in our Rick St Dennis Digi Fans and Friends Facebook group!

I started out by colouring her with a stylus in my fave art app called Paper 53 for iPad and I'm very pleased with how she turned out!

Click on my photos for a closer look.

Every year I get a wall calendar with the handy pocket but I missed out on getting one for 2016 so I decided to make my own page for each month and this is my page for February!

I got a freebie desk calendar I decided to cut up so the size of the calendar determined the size of the monthly pages I'll be making.  I printed out my coloured image and matted her and the calendar onto black and red cardstock using my Perfect Paper Layers tools.  For the pocket I enlarged one of the rose trees.  I made the pocket out of black cardstock and used a circle punch to cut out the notch in the front.  All the pieces where then adhered to black cardstock to create the calendar page.

Thanks for visiting with me today!
Happy Stamping!

Crazy Queen of Hearts - 2 cards for Rick St Dennis EDT!

Howzit Everyone!
I'm back today to share 2 cards I made as EDT inspiration for the February challenge over on our Rick St Dennis Fans and Friends Facebook group!  The theme this month is Hearts or Arrows (or both).  Come and join the fun, the challenge post is pinned at the top of the wall!

This gorgeous lady is The Crazy Queen of Hearts digi stamp and she's available in the Rick St Dennis Zibbet store HERE!

You know I'm a huge Alice in Wonderland fan so I had an absolute blast colouring her in my favourite iPad art app, Paper 53, with a Sensu stylus even though it took me like 10 hours to complete her.  I'm thrilled with how she turned out so the time spent was totally worth it ;0)
Click on the photos to enlarge them for a better look at all the details.

Once complete I moved over to Photoshop CS6 and designed my cards.  I decided to make clean and simple cards (CAS) because I wanted the image to be the sole focus and of course the senti is Valentine and AIW inspired.  I added the sentiments and the red frames and printed them out onto white cardstock, trimmed and adhered them to folded cards made from black cardstock.

Thank you for visiting with me today and have a fabulous Valentine's Weekend!

Steampunk digital art using an iPad - DT post for Forever Dark Challenges!

Howzit Everyone!
Our current challenge over at Forever Dark Challenges is Anything Goes with an optional twist and January is STEAMPUNK!

We have 2 fabulous sponsors this month

That Craft Place
And

You can see the projects I made for That Craft Place HERE and HERE!
Today I'm sharing the project I made for Stitchy Bear Stamps using this fabulous lady called Steampunk - 3 piece set by BBKakes.

I've been working on developing my skills in using an awesome application called Paper 53 and colouring on my iPad using a stylus.  Contrary to popular belief, doing digital art in Photoshop or similiar applications is not cheating or easy to do in the slightest and all who do digital work agree, it can be even more time consuming than doing traditional colouring on paper with markers and coloured pencils!  It is also super fun to have if you travel a lot and can't take all your supplies with you.  I was in the UK for Christmas when I started working on this one and it probably took me a total of 6 hours to complete so I'm getting better at it and I'm now developing my style on how I like to digi colour.

I got a new stylus for Christmas that I just LOVE!!!!  It's a PAINT BRUSH, squeal of delight!!!!!
The stylus is by Sensu and it's a paint brush and stylus two-in-one!

I used the brush part to lay down a watercolour base with the watercolour brush app tool and then a combination of the brush and the stylus to colour with the pencil app tool.  A LOT of colouring took place here and I'm really thrilled with how this project turned out :0)

See you over at Forever Dark Challenges and Have a great weekend!
Happy Stamping!
