Kathy won one of my prizes from the many Challenges and Hops LeighSBDesigns is delighted to sponsor throughout the year and she gleefully snapped up some of my Cat themed digis to play with and this week I'm thrilled to share her PURRtastic makes for the last stretch of our Christmas in July creativities!

 

Kathy is guest designing for us today with her PURRtastic card featuring my CATS GALORE kitty collage digi stamp.

 

 

In preparation for her card making Kathy says she went on a mission to find out what a group of cats are called and according to the www.veterinarians.org there's a few very fun terms that apply:  a clowder of cats is the most commonly used term while some refer to three or more as a cluster of cats, a destruction of cats, a glaring of cats and, this one is both our favourites, a pounce of cats!  Aren't those PURRfect, they all most definitely apply to our precious kitty cats, LOL!  

 

To make her PURRtastic card Kathy used a modified version of the Eclipse Technique.  She fussy cut the printed word "JOY" and positioned it in the middle of the "pounce of cats" and sketched the 3 letters with pencil onto the printed CATS GALORE collage which she then carefully cut out of collage with an Xacto knife.  She dropped the letters back into the collage and used a light gray marker to add shading to all of the cats before adding additional colouring with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen to all of the cats that appear within and around the letters to spotlight the letters and then added foam tape to the backs of each letter to make them dimensional.  Kathy upped the cuteness factor by adding Santa Hat stickers to 3 of the kitties and then completed her PURRfectly festive card with a fun sentiment and more Santa Hats on the inside of the card.

Kathy is my Fan Feature Guest Designer today with her stunning card featuring my MEOWY CHRISTMAS ATCoin digi stamp.  Kathy's creativity here demonstrates wonderfully how you can get so much more from my Artist Trading Coins by using them to create fun fancy card toppers too!

 

 

Kathy says my adorable MEOWY CHRISTMAS ATCoin digi stamp takes center stage of her fun fold card!  She can't remember what this particular fancy fold technique is called coz she learned it many years ago at a stamp store class but recently found a similar tutorial called a Flap Fold Card.  Kathy created her version from a green cardstock panel and decorated the front with Christmas stocking patterned cardstock.

 

 

My Artist Trading Coins are 2.5 x 2.5 inches so a 3 inch circle metal die or punch is perfect to cut them out with a little border or you can cut out the circle following the design outline like Kathy did here.  She then coloured up the MEOWY CHRISTMAS ATCoin with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen details and adhered it in place inside the circle window.  She completed her fun card with a sentiment inside the card and several goodies from her stash and the Cat Paw Print ribbon from Joanne's is the PURRfect finishing touch.

LeighSBDesigner Val has a magical Christmas in July make to inspire you today featuring the adorable Christmas Chorus Frog from the the Christmas 2020 Collection!

 

 To make her magical Christmas card Val coloured up the whimsical Christmas Chorus Frog wearing a Santa Hat with Promarkers and added white gel pen details.  To create her wonderful snowy scene she applied Stampendous Fran-tage Chunky White Embossing Enamel to the digi panel and sage green mat layer then mounted everything onto a folded white card base.

Christmas in July Inspiration: "A Snowflake Christmas" SVG Cutz Card by Val!

LeighSBDesigner Val has a magical Christmas in July make to inspire you today featuring SVG Cutz from my A Charming Christmas Collection and Decorative Digi Paper from my Winter Sparkle Collection!

 

 To make her magical Christmas card Val first cut out the fancy shaped folded card base with an elegant Snowflake and Star lace cut-in window design from the Elegant Snowflake Layered Make-a-Card SVG Cutz set out of white cardstock.  She then printed out a blue colourway sheet of the snowflake paper from the White Snowflakes Striated Marble Decorative Digi Paper Pack and used it to cut out the card insert, also included in the Elegant Snowflake Layered Make-a-Card SVG Cutz set, as well as to die cut out the "Merry Christmas" sentiment by Crafter's Companion.

 

 

Val then cut out the the wonderful whimsical Winter Snowman Lace SVG Cutz lace overlay and matching mat layer from white cardstock and coloured the snowman up with Promarkers.  She then completed her lovely Christmas card with Crystal Stickles Glitter glue for lots of pretty winter sparkle.

Christmas in July Inspiration: Poinsettia Pixie Tag by Val!

LeighSBDesigner Val has a lovely Christmas in July make to inspire you today featuring my beautiful Poinsettia Pixie digi stamp and paper from my wonderful White Snowflakes Striated Marble Decorative Digi Paper Pack, both of which are from the Winter Sparkle Collection!

 

 To make her beautiful tag Val overlaid the Poinsettia Pixie digi stamp onto the red coloured snowflake paper included in the White Snowflakes Striated Marble Decorative Digi Paper Pack and printed out.  She then cut out the main tag panel, a matching mat layer from the same decorative paper as well as a white mat layer using concentric tag dies.  She coloured up the Poinsettia Pixie with Promarkers and added details with a white gel pen and embellished with Crystal Stickles glitter glue for lots of magical sparkle.  She then completed her tag with festive red glitter eyelash fiber.
