🧜‍♀️ Wish Upon a Starfish 🧜‍♀️
card by Leigh

🧜🏻‍♀️ Today I’m sharing a birthday card I made for my sister using a smaller version of my Copic painting I blogged the other day featuring MerMae and greenery and bubbles from my Ocean Scenery set.

I coloured MerMae with Copics and covered her with clear Wink of Stella sparkle pen for lots of pretty shimmer.  For even more magical sparkle and a visual treat in dimension and textures I also used Viva Pearl magic transparent blue gel pen on the greenery and white on the bubbles and die cut the Memory Box dies, Oceana Corner and Deep Sea Corner, from white glitter cardstock.

I wrote the "Wish Upon a Starfish" sentiment by hand with a peach Sharpie pen.  I also used Crafter's Companion Shell stamps and dies and added Crystal Stickles glitter on those and edged the sentiment and card panel too!  I layered the mermaid panel onto a sheet of gorgeous peach pearlescent cardstock with pop dots and mounted everything onto a folded card I made from white cardstock.

The photos just don't do all the magical sparkle justice so here's a little video showing how pretty it is in real lifeπŸ˜‰

MerWitch Tag Card
by Leigh

I'm kicking off the hop with this fin-tastic tag card featuring MerWitch from my new Mermaid Collection!  I had lots of fun creating this different "look" for a Halloween project!

MerWitch is wicked cool in purple and yellow!

I coloured her up with Copics, mounted onto black cardstock then fussy cut her out!

Her dramatic ocean stage is a gorgeous die cut tag card with a fabulous 3D shell embossing folder layer.

All the glorious details highlighted in scrumptious gold and silver gilding wax.

Doesn't she just scream haute couture style in her witch hat, exoskeleton torso and spiderweb fins!

Copic coloured stamped and die cut shells, starfish and Halloween sentiment caught in a die cut fishing net decorate the bottom of the tag.

The "Happy Halloween" sentiment has a touch of Pumice Stone Distress Ink and Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen for a subtle gold shimmer.

The view of the back is equally yummy!

To create this mer-mazing tag card I used:
LeighSBDesigns' MerWitch, get her this week in the Half-o-Ween Sale!
The sentiment - Impression Obsession die
Crafter's Companion stamps and dies:  Ornate Tag die, Seashell Medley 3D embossing folder, Fishing Net die, Seashells stamps and dies and gold and silver Pebeo Gilding Wax.

Of course Neo had to cat check and give his a-PURR-oval😻

Daffodil Trellis Shadow Box Tutorial by Leigh!

Howzit Creative Friends!
I've been having lots of fun creating with my new Daffodil Trellis design and today I'm excited to share this 3D paper art piece I've made consisting of lots of fussy cut layers and glorious dimension😊

I then mounted the finished piece inside a gorgeous shadow box I made using a 6" Build-A-Frame Crafter's Companion die.   LOVE these new dies!

I printed the Daffodil Trellis out 4 times and fussy cut all the elements needed to create the dimensional piece.

The first print was used for the base layer and I detail coloured all the vertical planks of the wooden trellis and base coloured the rest of the design with Copic markers.   I then used a 5 inch nesting square die to cut out the panel as well as the next 2 larger dies to cut layering mats from black and yellow cardstock.

From the 2nd print I fussy cut out the daffodils and all the horizontal trellis planks.

I then detail coloured some of the daffodil petals and all the horizontal planks.

From the 3rd and 4th prints I fussy cut out all the daffodil sections I needed as well as 2 of the daisy flowers and detail coloured them up with Copics.

I added little details and highlights to all the flowers and leaves with a white gel pen.

I then assembled the piece by adhering all the fussy cut elements onto the base panel with clear double-sided 3D foam tape.

Now for the shadow box!  I die cut out the shadow box pieces from black cardstock and used the insert design dies to cut the patterns into the sides of the box which I then backed with yellow cardstock.  I then die cut out the decorative panels for the top of the shadow box from the same yellow cardstock.  Once assembled I applied metallic gold Pebeo wax to the entire shadow box as well as the 2 square layering mats I previously die cut which I then adhered inside the shadow box.

I then mounted the Daffodil Trellis piece inside the shadow box with 3D pop dots to add even more yummy dimension.

I designed the Daffodil Trellis with a diamond format but it looks stunning displayed as a square too!

Daffodil Trellis is currently available at LeighSBDesigns Etsy Boutique for a special intro price good thru March 27!

Cat-O-Ween card
by Leigh

For my Day 4 share today I made a card with a dark feminine vibe featuring Kitty Pumpkin Hat!

I love making cards with the right hand side completely fussy cut away, it's such a fun dramatic touch!

I coloured Kitty Pumpkin Hat with Copics and white gel pen highlights.
For the hat leaves I used colours to compliment the floral decorative background, from the Recollections Moonlit Manor double sided paper pad, I used to make the card base.

I also used Tim Holtz script washi tape, black acetate lace which I distressed, an orange stripe sticker and peel off sticker dot jewels stained orange with a Copic marker.

Inside the card I added the "Happy Cat-O-Ween" sentiment (Cheery Lynn Designs) which I die cut from colour co-coordinating cardstock and covered with Judikins Diamond Glaze.  I completed the card by punching the right hand corners with a Marvy paper punch and embellished with the orange jewels.

Neo then gave it his seal of PURRoval😻

Today's featured design is now on 25% off FLASH SALE until midnight pacific tonightπŸŽƒ
