Welcome to my 3rd annual Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop!

It's Day 4 already of our 5 day blog hop in honor of Edgar Allan Poe's birthday which was on the 19th🎉  What a POEtastic time we're having, so many wonderful projects have been shared!  If you're just joining us then start your hopping on my Day 1 post HERE!

This is a progressive hop with Poe inspired projects joining the fun every day as more Poe fans link up and share the Blog Hop roll on their own blogs!  EVERYONE is invited to take part or just hop so come join the fun and celebrate your love of all things Poe with us!  It is super easy to participate, you can play every day or just one day and link up anytime with no need to sign-up!  Anything goes, use any images from any company and all kinds of art is welcome including old ones, even the ones previously shared in the last 2 hops are welcome this year!  Only blogs that include links to LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog and the Blog Hop Roll in the posts can play!  If you're a fan of Poe here's your excuse to make some Poe-tastic art!  All the info you need is up on the POE PAGE!

"Oddleigh Poe's Birthday Party"

My Oddleigh girls are smitten with Mr Poe and thrilled to have such a distinguished gentleman join the family.  They excitedly planned his surprise party and pulled out all the stops.  At first Mr Poe wasn't too sure about the Party Hat they promptly put on his head but he's now having a splendid time!

To make my party scene I used the Oddleigh Poe and Raven set, Oddleigh Raven Nevermore, Oddleigh - The Raven, Hop FREEBIE - Poe Love, 3 hats from the the Party Hats pack, lil miss Oddleigh Cherished Heart and lil miss Oddleigh Flower.

 Here's a closer look at the tiny folk!  They're all 2.5 inches tall and 1 inch wide.  They're fussy cut out twice, once leaving a white border around each image and again to leave the narrow black border after matting on black cardstock.  This both strengthens the tiny cut outs and also makes them pop nicely against the background.

Here's a closer look at all the box card panels.  Oddleigh Raven Nevermore and The Raven decorate the side flaps, Poe Love which is the Hop Freebie is on the front flap.   The Oddleigh girls put up the Happy Birthday banner behind them to make Poe feel at home!  It decorates the back panel and features the Raven from the Oddleigh Poe and Raven set. 

 I used Copics to colour all the images and brown Derwent Pastel pencil blended with a Dove Blender pen on the panel backgrounds.  The images, the panels and the box card are blinged up with Star Dust Stickles glitter and clear Wink of Stella which you can't really see in the photos but the entire project is very sparkly in real life!

 The Oddleigh girls made sure to use black everywhere and decorated with black upside down twirly streamers and a spikey upside down icicles die cut border to make Poe feel at home.  The pop-up box card is a Lawn Fawn die.

LeighSBDesigns Art Stamps New Release: Oddleigh Dreaming of Sleep set and Oddleigh Mockingbird set!

I'm excited to release two new Oddleigh sets today, Lil Miss Oddleigh Dreaming of Sleep set of 3 digis and Oddleigh Mockingbird set of 5 digis!😃

 Mockingbirds moved into my neighbourhood last year and tormented everyone with non-stop singing all day and all night from March through June, we were soooooo sleep deprived😬 Luckily this year the night time singing hasn't been as bad but they're out there making themselves heard on and off throughout the night.  The Mockingbird saga is my inspiration for these two new Oddleigh sets and I'm sure many of you can relate and will enjoy telling your own Mockingbird horror stories with these fun new quirky designs! 

Lil Miss Oddleigh Dreaming of Sleep is whimsical, quirky and super cute in her fluffy slippers and nightgown decorated with a sleeping kitty face and the saying "Dreaming of Sleep" but she's sooooo not impressed with all the noise keeping her awake!  She comes with 2 digis, a cluster of 4 stars and a thought bubble full of sleep Zzzzzz's.

Oddleigh Mockingbird is a wicked bird perched in a tree gleefully shooting Sleep Zzzzz's out of the sky with his bow and arrow.  He comes with 4 digis, a cluster of 2 stars, a pile of fallen Zzzzz's, floating Zzzzz's that are hollow so you can make them any colour you want plus the same Zzzzz's in solid black too.

 

 

These are stand alone sets that work nicely on their own so you can create all sorts of stories with them.  But put them together and you've got an entire Mockingbird drama....check out my inspiration projects below for lots of ideas😋

Introducing Oddleigh Lizard Boy and Spider Set!

He's a whimsical stylized caricature portrait of a quirky pointy eared boy with a reptilian tongue and eyes surrounded by creepy branches and leaves.  He comes with a separate digi of a Spider dangling from a leafy branch.  He's the 3rd character in my Oddleigh Family and a must for your Half-O-Ween and Halloween projects😀

He's so wickedly creepy and rather mischievous pretending to eat his BBF, the Oddleigh Spider, in this scene I created...you can tell it's an Oddleigh spider coz it has an "O" on it's abdomen!  I think you guys could have lots of fun with him, besides your creepy projects he would be fun for Birthday cards for boys too😋

LeighSBDesigns Art Stamps New Release - lil Miss Oddleigh Cherished Heart Set!

 I'm so thrilled everyone is loving all the LeighSBDesigns Art Stamp releases so far and now I'm excited to bring you release #4😃

Introducing the lil Miss Oddleigh Cherished Heart set of 2 digis!
 She's the 2nd character in my Oddleigh Family and she comes with a fun decorative Heart border.

She's so whimsically quirky standing there hugging her Cherished Heart, I think you guys could have lots of fun with her.  She can be used all year round and for any occassion but of course she's perfect for your Valentine and Mother's Day makes😋

She's now available at my Etsy Boutique at an introductory release price for the next 3 days so dash on over and grab her while she's on sale😋

Here's an ATC I made featuring her and the decorative Heart border which I used twice to frame her.

I used Copics to colour everthing except the background which is done with Derwent Pastel pencils and a Dove Blender pen and I hand wrote "Cherished Heart" with a Copic multiliner.  The decorative Heart borders and her heart were printed out twice so I could fussy cut them out and adhere with pop dots for a touch of dimension and I applied clear Wink of Stella to all the hearts and her shoes for a touch of magical sparkle.
