"The Raven"

POE Frame SVG Cutz Card

My inspiration for Day 5 and the finale of our POEtastic 9th annual Edgar Allan Poe creativities is a handsome POE FRAME SVG Cutz card from the "POE" Frame Cards - Ultimate SVG Cutz Set featuring my brand new Edgar Allan POE Puss and decorative digi paper from the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Paper Pack.
I coloured Edgar Allan POE Puss in Adobe Fresco and printed him out in various sizes then further enhanced my colouring with Prismacolor pencils. Today's POE Puss is the smallest at about 4 inches tall and to make him pop nicely against the background
I fussy cut him out leaving a narrow white border and trimmed him off at his coat tails to create a cameo portrait for the frame.
The fabulous shaped POE word card is included in my "POE" Frame Cards - Ultimate SVG Cutz Set. I cut the top fold base card from black cardstock, the layers from shades of brown cardstock and the background for the "O" frame from a piece of the "Raven Flight" decorative digi paper from the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Paper Pack using my new Silhouette Cameo 5 electronic cutting machine I got for Christmas.
I applied Spectrum Noir Midas Gold pigment ink to the bottom mat layer and adhered it to the folded card base with black foam tape. I then adhered the background for the "O" frame in place with double sided tape.
I then painted the shadow mat layer metallic gold with a Spectrum Noir paint pen and also adhered it to the card with foam tape for lots of fabulous dimension.
Next I adhered the POE letters overlay directly onto the gold shadow layer with glue and positioned POE Puss inside the "O" frame with 2 layers of black tape behind his head and the base of tail tucked inside the frame to make it look like he's emerging from the frame. I completed my POE card with the title "The Raven" cut from the scanned page of Poe's poem I used on my Day 1 make, coloured with Vintage Paper Distress Ink and mounted on a few layers of black cardstock to make the word pieces chunky.
