Day 1

“You Stole my Heart”

Gothic Gazing Globe

3D Ornament Stand

Welcome to Day 1 of our wickedly fabulous 5th annual Gothic Valentine Blog Hop🖤  I’m kicking off the party with my Gothic Gazing Globe with a man’s heart suspended inside🖤

One of my all time favorite TV series is “Once Upon a Time”.  The clever way they weaved all the fairytales into one intricate web of delightful magic was brilliant.  I was particularly fond of the Evil Queen, Regina and her magnificent wardrobe!  I loved how Snow White’s Evil Queen merged with Alice’s Queen of Hearts so my Gothic Valentine make is inspired by her wicked penchant for ripping out living hearts and keeping them trapped!

I used my Gothic Gazing Globe SVG Cutz set to create this wicked 3D ornament stand.

Suspended inside the gothic gazing globe is the living “Heart Splatter” of the “Dark Handsome Stranger” with the terrible tale of his torment told on the back of the heart where it reads “You Stole my Heart”🖤

I cut 6 of the Gothic Gazing Globe panels from black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 4 and trimmed away the Jack o’ Lantern base design from each.  I then made grunge cardstock with Walnut Stain and Fired Brick Distress Oxide sprays, printed out two panels of my Skull Roses Collage then cut 6 of the base mat layer included in the Gothic Gazing Globe set.

I pre-folded all the panels and mats then glued the mats in place and assembled the Gothic Gazing Globe one panel at a time leaving the last panel open.

I then printed out the Dark Handsome Stranger onto the Distress Oxide cardstock and used the Heart Splatter digi stamp as a cut file to cut out 2 of the heart ornaments which I then glued together with fishing line sandwiched inside.

I coloured the back of the ornament black then painted it with a Spectrum Noir Macaroon Sparkle brush pen for a shimmery deep red sparkle.  I printed the dark senti digi stamp onto white cardstock and cut it out with an offset then I painted it and the front facing Fleur-de-Lis finial with the sparkle pen too.  I then edged the heart and the senti with Spectrum Noir Midas gold pigment ink.

I completed the Gothic Gazing Globe ornament stand by gluing the fishing line hanger inside the Fleur-de-Lis finial and then glued the final panel pieces of the stand together.  What makes this 3D stand even more awesome is that it folds flat for storage and mailing!

To end this macabre tale on a happy note…the Evil Queen repented and gave the Dark Handsome Stranger his heart back and they lived happily ever after…well, in this story at least🖤

Once Upon a Nightmare...the enchanted Furness Forest is alive with the creatures of the night as Salem stalks amongst the ferns and mushrooms, his eerily glowing eyes piercing the darnkness!

 

 
For Day 27 of our SPOOKtacular 31 Days of Halloween Hop+Challenge and Day 3 of the Cat Lovers Hop I'm back with a FURRtastic Gothic Gazing Globe 3D Stand with a Cat silhouette ornament featuring SVG Cutz from my new Once Upon a Nightmare Collection!

 

 

I welded the Gothic Gazing Globe Stand 3D SVG Cutz with my gorgeous new Furness Forest Faerie Ring Layered SVG Cutz and cut out 4 of the stand elements, 2 are mirror images, out of heavy weight black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 4.  I trimmed away a mushroom and two tress from each piece to make more space for my hanging cat ornament.

 

 

I cut four of the stand mat layers from a sheet of mixed media cardstock I coloured with Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Sprays and Jack-o-Lantern Distress Mica Stain for some luscious wicked sparkle.

 

 

I adhered the stand mats to the backs of the 4 stand panels and coloured just the grinning mouths and wicked eyes of the pumpkins with a reddish orange Spectrum Noir sparkle paint pen for a touch of shimmer.

 

 From black cardstock I cut the large Salem silhouette kitty that has eye cut outs from my new Black Cat Silhouettes Layered SVG Cutz set twice with one as a mirror image.  

 

 

I love magical light effects so of course I put Silhouette glow-in-the-dark sticker paper behind the eyes of both cats and then adhered them back to back with fishing line sandwiched between to create the hanging ornament.

 

I then folded all the Gothic Gazing Globe stand pieces along the fold lines and carefully adhered each side to the next taking my time to line things up one side at time.

 

  

I placed the Cat ornament in the center and adhered the fishing line between the Fleur-de-lis topper before adhering the last side together.

 

The Gothic Gazing Globe Stand 3D SVG Cutz is an amazing 3D paper art piece but it's super versatile too coz it folds flat making it a different Meow-o-Ween card PURRfect for mailing!

Day 8

"Gothic Nightmare Catcher"

LeighSBDesigner Val's 31 Days of Halloween inspiration for Day 8 is a wickedly faBOOlous make that is perfect as a hanging ornament or a tag and features SVG Cutz from my new Once Upon a Nightmare Collection!

 

 

Using Hobby Craft Black cardstock Val cut the lace overlay stand from my new Gothic Gazing Globe Stand 3D SVG Cutz and the lace spiderweb overlay and bats from my new Gothic Nightmare Catcher SVG Cutz with her Silhouette Portrait 3.  To add strength and lots of wonderful shine she coated all the black cuts with Versamark ink and applied clear embossing powder.

 

She then cut the matching mat layers from Hobby Craft Smooth White cardstock and coloured them with Burnt Orange Distress Oxide ink which she then decorated with Tim's Clear Rock Candy Glitter applied with a quickie glue pen.  She then assembled her make and coloured the eyes of the pumpkins and bats with a white gel pen and added black eyelash fiber as the hanger.

"Furness Forest"

Gothic Gazing Globe 3D Luminary

Once Upon a Nightmare the Wicked Moon kept a watchful gaze upon the enchanted Furness Forest as the creatures of the night began to stir....come with me, let's go deep into the forest to see what's there...if you dare!

 

 

I'm kicking off the spooktivities today with a SPOOKtacular Gothic Gazing Globe 3D Luminary featuring digi stamps and SVG Cutz from my new Once Upon a Nightmare Collection!

 

 

Everyone knows I ❤️ luminaries so of course I could not resist making one with my new faBOOlous Gothic Gazing Globe Stand 3D SVG Cutz set for electronic cutting machines!

 

I welded the Gothic Gazing Globe Stand 3D SVG Cutz with my gorgeous new Furness Forest Faerie Ring Layered SVG Cutz and cut out 4 of the stand elements out of heavy weight black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 4.

 

I cut four of the base mat layers from vellum and adhered them to the backs of the stand base panels and coloured the vellum with Copics to create the Jack o' Lantern stained glass effect.  I also cut the base frame overlay and the Fleur-de-lis overlay out 4 times from mixed media cardstock and coloured them with Bronze Spectrum Noir Midas pigment ink.

 

 

I printed the wonderful Wicked Moon digi stamp out twice with one as a mirror image and coloured them with purple Copics.  I then adhered the moons back to back with fishing line sandwiched between to create the hanging ornament.

 

I then folded all the Gothic Gazing Globe Luminary stand pieces along the fold lines and carefully adhered each side to the next taking my time to line things up one side at time and then I placed the Wicked Moon ornament in the center before adhering the last side together.  I didn't fully adhere the top and bottom of the base panels together near the center coz that's where I then slipped in the string lights to light up the Jack o' Lantern base!

 

 The luminary takes a bit of time and patience to assemble but the finished Gothic Gazing Globe Luminary is glorious to behold once complete and taking pride of place in your Halloween decor this year!
