Steampunk Serengeti Card by Leigh

 

Today is the finale of our epic Steampunk Serengeti Blog Hop!

Thank you everyone for joining us on our grand adventure to the Steampunk Serengeti!  I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing your African and Steampunk themed makes especially the ones using my new Steampunk Serengeti Collection...I truly appreciate seeing my digi stamps and SVG Cuts being used and enjoyed...thank you for supporting LeighSBDesigns❤️

🎃 Prepare to be spellbound with delight coz something wicked this way comes for SPOOKtember 🎃

I'm giddy with excitement and can not wait to release LeighSBDesigns Halloween 2021 Collection!  It is the largest collection I've ever released and it's beyond wicked so do pop in for a spell early next week for the SPOOKtacular launch🎃

My card today features:

Cheetah Steampunk Serengeti digi stamp

Botanical Gears Steampunk Serengeti Collage Digi Stamp

Steampunk Serengeti Grunge Sentiment Digi Stamp Set of 3 sentiments

Gears and Leaves Layered Steampunk Elements Cutz Set

AFRICA Steampunk Serengeti Layered Lace Cutz set    

I used Distress Oxide Sprays to create all my background papers for this card and printed out the Cheetah Steampunk Serengeti digi stamp and the Botanical Gears Steampunk Serengeti Collage Digi Stamp for the large background mat layer on to 2 of the Oxide papers.

I mounted the 2 panels onto a mat layer of Tim’s gold mirror card and then onto a folded card base I made from heavy weight black cardstock.

Using my Silhouette Cameo 4 I then cut the overlay from the AFRICA Steampunk Serengeti Layered Lace Cutz set out of black cardstock, the 1st mat layer included in the set from another sheet of my Oxide papers and the offset mat layer from a sheet of Tim’s silver mirror cardstock.  I used pop dots to adhere the AFRICA panel to the card.

The sentiment "Spirit of Africa" is from the Steampunk Serengeti Grunge Sentiment Digi Stamp Set of 3 sentiments which I cut out with an offset designed in Silhouette Studio after I printed it out.

I cut out the leaf elements included in the Gears and Leaves Layered Steampunk Elements Cutz Set from my Oxide papers too and applied Black Soot Distress ink to the edges.  All the gears elements were also cut from the gold and silver mirror card.  I then embellished the card with all the elements and attached the sentiment with pop dots.

Steampunk Serengeti Giraffe

 I'm back today with a gorgeous card for our Steampunk Serengeti Blog Hop that's def ending on Sept 10th and then I've got the largest collection I've ever released to launch for Halloween 2021, you're going to be spellbound with delight🎃

My card today features:

Giraffe Steampunk Serengeti Xtreme Slimline Panel Digi Stamp

Botanical Gears Steampunk Serengeti Collage Digi Stamp

Steampunk Serengeti Grunge Sentiment Digi Stamp Set of 3 sentiments

Gears and Leaves Layered Steampunk Elements Cutz Set

Steampunk Serengeti Rectangle Collage Lace Cutz set

 

I used Distress Oxide Sprays to create all my background papers for this card and printed out the Giraffe Steampunk Serengeti Xtreme Slimline Panel Digi Stamp for my focal panel and the Botanical Gears Steampunk Serengeti Collage Digi Stamp for the large background mat layer.

Using my Silhouette Cameo 4 I then cut the overlay from the Steampunk Serengeti Rectangle Collage Lace Cutz set out of black cardstock and the corresponding mat layer included in the set from another sheet of my Oxide papers.

 The sentiment "Steampunk Serengeti" is from the Steampunk Serengeti Grunge Sentiment Digi Stamp Set of 3 sentiments which I cut out with an offset designed in Silhouette Studio after I printed it out.

I cut out all the leaf elements included in the Gears and Leaves Layered Steampunk Elements Cutz Set from my Oxide papers too and all the gears elements from paper I coloured with Tarnished Brass, Antigued Bronze and Brushed Pewter Distress Stain Sprays and I used Tarnished Brass to add some splat specks to the leaves too.  I added flecks and smear texture to the gears with Spectrum Noir Midas gold, silver and copper pigment inks and edged the Giraffe panel and the sentiment with the silver ink.  I then cut all the mat shadow layers from black cardstock.

 

I made a folded card from heavy weight black cardstock and assembled everything with glue except the sentiment which I adhered in place with pop dots.

Steampunk Serengeti Elephant

 My Steampunk Serengeti Blog Hop inspiration for you today is an epic bookmark featuring:

Elephant Steampunk Serengeti digi stamp

Steampunk Serengeti 3D Layered Text Panel Cutz set

 

 

I used Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Old Paper and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Sprays as watercolours to paint my Elephant Steampunk Serengeti digi stamp panel and metallic gel pens in copper, gold and silver to colour the stars and enhance the Steampunk elements of the design.

 

 

The Steampunk Serengeti 3D Layered Text Panel Cutz set is a bit smaller than the Xtreme Slimline Card Frame sets and I sized the Elephant Steampunk Serengeti digi stamp to fit the window frame perfectly in Silhouette Studio and then sent it to my printer from inside Silhouette Studio.

 

 

 

I then cut the Steampunk Serengeti 3D Layered Text Panel Cutz overlay from black cardstock and the matching base layer from yellow cardstock to use for the colour peeks through the cut outs as well as a base layer from heavy weight black cardstock to make the bookmark nice and sturdy.

 

I wanted lots of metallic shine so I coloured the yellow cardstock shadow layer with Crushed Papaya Nuvo glitter marker and then toned down the bright copper with a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Stain Spray in Tarnished Brass.

 

 

I then painted the separate Steampunk Serengeti text cutz with the Tarnished Brass included in the Steampunk Serengeti 3D Layered Text Panel Cutz set which I first cut from yellow cardstock.

 

 

Now it's time to settle down for the evening with a good book and a cup of tea as I travel through the Serengeti!

 LeighSBDesigner Val's Steampunk Serengeti Blog Hop inspiration for you today is a wonderful elephant themed extreme slimline card featuring:

Stay Wild Steampunk Serengeti Grunge Sentiment Digi Stamp Set of 5 sentiments 

 Serengeti Leaves Layered Frame and Xtreme Slimline Card Cutz set

 

Val used the Serengeti Leaves Layered Frame and Xtreme Slimline Card Cutz set to make her beautiful card by cutting the leaf overlay from black cardstock and then matted it onto the red and yellow mat layers and the black folded Xtreme Slimline card base included in the set.  She sized the Elephant Steampunk Serengeti digi stamp to fit the Xtreme Slimline frame and embellished her card with the Elephant sentiment matted up with the same layers of coloured cardstocks from the Stay Wild Steampunk Serengeti Grunge Sentiment Digi Stamp Set of 5 sentiments.
