LeighSBDesigner Val's "Make it Sparkle" Challenge inspirational make for you today is a beautiful sparkly slimline card featuring the Cherry Blossom Branch Print and Cut SVG Cutz set and Slimline folded card base and mat layer from one of my slimline SVG Cutz sets!

 

 

Val used Silhouette Studio's Print and Cut feature to print the Cherry Blossom Branch design with her home printer and then cut it out using her Silhouette Portrait 3 electronic cutting machine.  She then cut the shadow mat layer included in the set from black cardstock.  Using one of my slimline SVG Cutz sets Val then cut the slimline folded card base from black cardstock and the mat layer from a sheet of Hobby Craft's Pastels Foil cardstock.  For lots of pretty sparkle Val applied Nuvo Translucent Jewel Drops to the Cherry Blossom centers and card corners and Tim Holtz Clear Rock Candy Glitter to the petals.

Elegant "pOe" Frame Cards

It's Day 5 of our POE-tastic 8th annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop and for the grand finale today I've got two elegant "pOe" Frame Cards to inspire you featuring my new Poe 2023 Collection.

 

  All my makes for our 8th annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop!

 

 

Today's makes are the Elegant style "pOe" Frame Cards included in my new ultimate "POE" Frame Cards SVG Cutz Set and all the background papers are from my new Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Paper Pack.

 

 

I used two of the Ravens perched in the tree from the "Raven Tree" digi paper design included in the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Papers inside the "O" frames.  They printed out with a green tinge when my magenta ink cartridge decided to run out - the POE-fect happy accident which gave the framed images a nice contrast with the rest of the cards.  The "pOe" Frame Card above has the large side fold card base and the one below has the large top fold card base. 

 

 

I imported all 6 of the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Papers into Silhouette Studio and played around with the placement of all the SVG Cutz elements.  I printed the digi papers onto white cardstock and cut out all the Frame Card elements with my Silhouette Cameo 4.  I then cut out all the card fold bases and shadow layers from black cardstock and assembled all the card elements together with a combination of glue and foam tape for a pop of dimension beneath the black shadow layers and between the base mat layers and the folded card bases.

 

I'm really pleased with how the whole "POE" Frame Cards ultimate SVG Cutz Set turned out and they look so handsome cut from my new Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Papers!  

 

 

And that concludes our POE-tastic 8th annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop in celebration of Edgar Allan Poe for 2023!  But don't worry, I'm not done coz I'll be sharing more fun ideas on how to use this ultimate SVG Cutz set over the next few weeks that you won't want to miss seeing but in the meanwhile mark your calendars for 2024, yikes, it will be POE time again before we know it, LOL😉

Romancing Poe and Conspiracy of Ravens

It's Day 4 already of our POE-tastic 8th annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop and today I've got two handsome POE cards to inspire you featuring my new Poe 2023 Collection.

 

 

First up is my card featuring the Romancing Poe Collage digi stamp set and digi papers from the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Paper Pack and the Vintage Grunge Digi Paper Pack.

 

 

For the background mat layer of my card I used a design from the Vintage Grunge Digi Paper Pack and made a folded card base from black cardstock 1/4 inch larger plus a black mat slightly larger for the main panel.  In Photoshop I combined the "Poe's Signature" digi paper with the Romancing Poe Collage digi stamp before printing out two copies of the combined design onto white cardstock.  My magenta ink cartridge began to run out halfway through printing which resulted in part of the prints taking on a greenish tinge which I just love - happy accidents are so fun!  I fussy cut out Poe's heart face from the print that was more green to create the dimensional element with foam tape.

 

For a touch of vintage gold shine I applied Spectrum Noir Midas metallic gold pigment ink directly to the edges of the Romancing Poe panel, the background mat layer and the fussy cut out "Poe Heart".  I then mounted the main panel matted with the black layer to the card front with foam tape for even more dimension.  To complete the card I reversed the colours of the "Edgar Allan Poe" sentie from the Romancing Poe Collage digi stamp set in Photoshop which made the text white and the background black and then used my Silhouette Cameo 4 to cut the sentie out with an offset following the curved shape of the words.  I also cut out 4 more of the same shape in black cardstock which I adhered together to create a nice chunky sentie.

 

 

My second card for you today is a slimline card and features the Conspiracy of Ravens digi stamp, the "Conspiracy of Ravens" sentie included in the set and two different papers from the he Vintage Grunge Digi Paper Pack.

 

 

The Conspiracy of Ravens scene combined with the vintage grunge paper also printed out with a slight greenish tinge too which I just love.  I then printed out a mat layer from another design included in the Vintage Grunge Digi Paper Pack and edged both the main panel and the mat layer with the gold pigment ink.

 

I made a folded slimline card base from black cardstock plus a black mat slightly larger then the main panel.  I then mounted the main panel plus the mat layer to the card front with black foam tape.

 

To complete the card I reversed the colours of the "Conspiracy of Ravens" sentie, from the the Conspiracy of Ravens digi stamp set, in Photoshop too.  Then used my Silhouette Cameo 4 to cut the sentie out with an offset following the curved shape of the words as well as 4 more of the same shape in black cardstock which I adhered together to create a nice chunky sentie.

Conspiracy of Ravens

LeighSBDesigner Val is back for Day 3 of our 8th annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop with her handsome acetate Card featuring my new Poe 2023 Collection! 

 

  

Val made a POE-tastic acetate card with the Conspiracy of Ravens digi stamp scene on the acetate front.

 

She used one of my new Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Papers decorated with Poe's signature and a flying Raven on the inside of the card.

 

 

Val also added the "Conspiracy of Ravens" sentie from the Conspiracy of Ravens digi stamp set to the inside of the card which shows nicely through the acetate.

 

 

She then encrusted the Conspiracy of Ravens scene and the inside of the card with Tim Holtz Clear Rock Candy Glitter and added some white gel pen detail to the flying Raven inside.

 

Val made such a handsome and unique Poe inspired card!

Classic pOe Frame Cards

It's Day 2 of our POE-tastic 8th annual Edgar Allan Poe Blog Hop and today I've got two handsome "pOe" Frame Cards to inspire you featuring my new Poe 2023 Collection and my Ode to Poe digi stamp.

 

 

To make my classic "pOe" cards I used 2 of the POE-tastic frame card sets included in my new ultimate "POE" Frame Cards SVG Cutz Set and all the background papers are from my new Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Paper Pack.

 

 

This "pOe" Frame Card is the large top fold card base included in the ultimate SVG Cutz set.

I imported the Ode to Poe digi stamp into Silhouette Studio and sized Poe's Portrait to fit inside the "O" frame and then used Silhouette's print and cut feature to print and cut it out.

 

I imported all 6 of the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Papers into Silhouette Studio and then played around with the placement of all the SVG Cutz elements.  It was then easy to print the digi papers onto white cardstock and cut out all the Frame Card elements.  I also printed out the "Happy Birthday Poe" and "Edgar Allan Poe" senties included in the Romancing Poe Collage digi stamp set onto one of the background papers.  I cut the "Happy Birthday Poe" sentie out with an offset following the curved shape of the words.

 

I used the largest mat layer to cut a panel for the inside of the card too.

 

 

This "pOe" Frame Card is the larger of the 2 side fold card bases included in the ultimate SVG Cutz set.

 

For this one I used the "Poe and Raven" design from one of the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Papers inside the "O" frame and I trimmed off the word "Poe" from the "Edgar Allan Poe" sentie.  For both senties I also cut matching panels and slightly larger panels out of black cardstock to mat and layer and make chunkier senties.  I did the same to the top "pOe" overlay letters for both cards too for extra dimension.

 

I then assembled all the card elements and used foam tape to pop the "pOe" overlayers with the shadow mat layers for even more fun dimension.
