Day 18 of 31 Days of Halloween
Furness Forest Doll Diorama
by Leigh
Sally loves to trick or treat in the Furness Forest graveyard beneath the watchful gaze of the Wicked Moon on Halloween! The Shadow Faeries mischievously hide candy around the tombstones for her to find and the Witch of Furness Forest always has a special candy apple just for her!
You've seen my doll diorama I created for my Sad Sally 7 inch Tonner doll in before and this year I decided it was time to give it an upgrade and customized the exterior and interior sides of the large box to give Sally her most SPOOKtacular Halloween ever!
The wooden box exterior sides measure 14.5 inches and the interior is 13.5 inches. I previously covered all the sides with silver snowflake paper for a winter Halloween scene and then I use the same box for my Christmas diorama. I've now decorated each side with all the Shadow Trees included in my new Furness Forest Shadow Trees SVG Cutz set, lots of bats from my Gothic Nightmare Catcher SVG Cutz set and the Wicked Witch from the Wicked Witch and Hissy Cat Silhouettes Layered SVG Cutz set, all of which were cut out of black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 4.
Nyx, Samara, Laila, Zylah and Zella Shadow Faeries are playing amongst the Shadow Trees blowing in the wind while watching Sally find the candy they hid for her.
Laila the Pumpkin Shadow Faerie is perched on top of her pumpkin next to a tombstone to make sure no creatures steal Sally’s candy. All the Shadow Faeries are coloured with Prismacolor pencils and I cut them out using my Cameo with a narrow offset.
I used 3 moons for my diorama: the Wicked Moon digi stamp is on inside back panel and on the outside are my layered Wicked Moon and Enchanted Moon from the Once Upon a Moonlit Night Colourize It SVG Cutz set.
I cut the top layer for both moons and lots of clouds, also included in the Once Upon a Moonlit Night Colourize It SVG Cutz set, out of white glitter paper from Scrapbook.com's Mixed Metals paper pad. The middle layer for both moons is cut from a sheet of Crafter’s Companion textured purple cardstock and the back layers from black cardstock.
I then created my scenes for each side of the diorama and adhered all the elements in place with clear repositionable 3m tape so that I can easily change out the scenes later.
Let's go trick or treating with Sally and the Shadow Faeries!
