Today in celebration of National Cat Day, Day 29 of our SPOOKtacular 31 Days of Halloween Hop+Challenge and Day 5 of the Cat Lovers Hop I'm back with a FURRtastic Gothic Nightmare Catcher featuring Digi Stamps and SVG Cutz from my new Once Upon a Nightmare Collection!

I’ve definitely got wickedly adorable kitties stalking my dreams so I made an elegant Nightmare Catcher in shades of purple, black with touches of gold using my new Gothic Nightmare Catcher SVG Cutz.

I super-sized the Gothic Nightmare Catcher pieces in Silhouette Studio and cut 2 of the spiderweb circles, with one as a mirror image, out of 12" x 12" heavy weight black cardstock, adhered them back to back and then I applied a coat of gold Spectrum Noir sparkle glitter pen to add subtle but dramatic shimmers of gold depending on how the light hits it. I then cut out lots of bats from the set plus 3 of the Black Cat Silhouettes Layered SVG Cutz to create the long tail.

I cut mat layers for the Bats, the 3 Cats and the Fleur-de-lis overlay from a sheet of mixed media cardstock I coloured with Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Sprays and Hocus Pocus Distress Mica Stain for some wicked sparkle.

Of course I put Silhouette glow-in-the-dark sticker paper behind all the eyes of the Bats! There's also a Candy Bat digi stamp flying around on the hunt for candy...for him I punched tiny holes in his eyes so they too shine wickedly!

I decorated the Gothic Nightmare Catcher with a Wicked Moon digi stamp printed out on the GITD sticker paper and he's smiling down upon the Skeleton Cat which I cut from black cardstock and used more of my Distress Oxide coloured paper to cut the mat included in the set. For Skelly Cat I also cut his eyes out of the GITD sticker paper and did some paper piecing.

I punched tiny holes in all the pieces and attached them together with tarnished gold filigree jewelry findings and purple crystal beads. I only had a few jump rings left from Tim's Charm Clips which were the PURRfect colour so I made more jump rings from headpins to match. I used a purple crystal bead decorated hook for my hanger and dismantled 2 more hooks to make my bead dangles.

Here's the finished piece glowing prettily in the evening light!

But turn out the lights and.....ooooooo spooky!
