I'm back for Day 25 of our 31 Days of Halloween
SPOOKtivities with my
PURRtastic Count Catula Coffin Box with a hidden light effect!
This make features a Halloween Loveleigh
Kitty and matching senti from my new CAToWeen 2024 Loveleigh Kitties Halloween Collection.

Count Catula Loveleigh Kitty is the star of today's make!
Along with the awesome Wicked Moon
The Cauldron of Bats from the Ghost Balleigh Monster set.
For the background I used the monochromatic colourway from the Scary Forest Decorative Digi Paper Pack.
I also used two senties on this make:
"Have a Cat-tacular Halloween" senti from the Halloween Kitty Senties set
"Count Catula" from the Count Catula Senties set.
Based on the measurements of the wooden coffin box lid I designed my spooky scene in photoshop with Count Catula, the Wicked Moon and the Cauldron of Bats, which I coloured digitally in Adobe Fresco, and added the Scary Forest Decorative Digi Paper in the background.
I printed out the scene and the background came out with a pink tinge coz my printer decided to do it's own thing again, which totally worked for me coz it picked up on the red in Count Catula's cloak nicely! Gotta love these happy accidents!
I lined up the scene onto the lid of the coffin box and trimmed it into the coffin shape and applied Black Soot Distress Ink to the edges.
I then got to work altering the wooden coffin box. I first removed all the hardware and painted the box black with Black Soot Distress Stain. I printed out more of the Scary Forest Decorative Digi Paper in small scale, cut all the coffin box side panels then adhered them in place with matte Distress Collage Medium.
I adhered the top scene panel last then grunged up all the edges with more Black Soot Distress Stain and Spectrum Noir Midas Silver pigment ink to match the coffin box hardware.
I
printed the "Count Catula" sentiment and fussy cut it out with an offset using my
Silhouette Cameo 5, coloured it with Black Soot Distress Ink then adhered it in place with glue.
I then re-attached the coffin box clasp and hinges.
Then when darkness falls flip the switch on the back of the coffin box to reveal the hidden spooky light show!

The coffin box lid has a window cut in the shape of a bat!
Took some effort to design the scene to make sure Count Catula's eyes lined up with the window but the effect was so worth it! Love how my coffin box turned out 🎃
