Hanging Rosette Ornament

Today begins our 3rd week of Halloween SPOOKtivities and what a SPOOKtacular haunting month it has been already, we're loving all the faBOOlous makes shared in our Haunt Hop, keep the eye candy coming!

 

 

I'm back for Day 15 of our 31 Days of Halloween SPOOKtivities with a drop dead gorgeous hanging ornament featuring a Day of the Dead themed kitty from my new CAToWeen 2024 Halloween Loveleigh Kitties Collection!  Check everything out and more in my Halloween Sale too!

 

Catrina Loveleigh Kitty is the star of my hanging ornament today.

 

  

On Day 5 of our 31 Days of Halloween SPOOKtivities I shared my Dia De Los Muertos book panel where I used 2 prints of my coloured Catrina kitty and fussy cut out just the flowers from the 2nd print.  I kept her head of course and used it for my hanging ornament make today!

 

To make my hanging ornament I used both sizes of the Tim Holtz Alterations Mini Paper Rosettes and die cut them from a sheet of Crafter's Companion Vintage Halloween cardstock in shades of pink and red with a spiderweb design.  Once assembled I applied Spectrum Noir Midas Gold pigment ink to all the ridges and edges of both rosettes, front and back.

 

 

I then decorated both sides of each rosette with paper flowers and the front of the smaller one has a spider crawling around amongst the flowers.

 

 

From my stash of jewelry supplies I upcycled a beaded wine bottle decoration with green beads and gold jewelry findings and re-assembled the linked components to create the hanger, the connecting piece between the 2 rosettes and the 3 strand beaded tassel.

 

 

Using the existing perforated fold holes in each rosette I widened a hole and attached the rosettes and the beaded components with jump rings.

 

 

For lots of pretty sparkle I embellished Catrina Kitty and all the paper flowers with Diamond Sickles glitter.

To complete my Day of the Dead make I adhered Catrina Kitty to the large rosette with black foam tape and attached a gold swirl hanger to hang up my fun Day of the Dead rosette ornament.

LeighSBDesigner Val's 31 Days of Halloween inspiration for Day 28 of our SPOOKtacular 31 Days of Halloween Hop+Challenge and Day 4 of the Cat Lovers Hop is a magical MDF bauble featuring Digi Stamps and SVG Cutz from my new Once Upon a Nightmare Collection! 

 

Val created her FURRtastic MDF bauble by first combining the Mushroom Faerie Ring digi stamp with the Hex kitty silhouette from the Black Cats and Senti set digi stamp set.  She printed the scene onto cardstock coloured with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink and added white gel pen details then fussy cut the circle out.  Next she cut a circle of white glitter cardstock larger than the Mushroom Faerie Ring and then cut out the Forest Faerie Ring Layered Lace SVG Cutz overlay from black cardstock using her Silhouette Portrait 3 electronic cutting machine.  Val covered the MDF bauble with Hobby Craft black and silver glitter cardstock and then adhered all the cut panels to the bauble and completed her FURRbulous bauble with black eyelash fiber.

"Crystal Angel" Snowflake Ornament for Lost Coast Designs DT!

Snowlake Ornament

 I stamped her Onxy Black Memento Ink and coloured her with Copics in a blue and lavender colour palette and added lots of shimmer and sparkle with clear Wink of Stella and Diamond Stickles glitter glue.  I then adhered her to a hanging snowflake ornament.

The following photos show how she transforms when hung in a window under different lighting conditions....sooooo pretty!

 

 

I just love how the snowflake shows behind the angel here, it gives it a stained glass like effect.

"Layered Poinsettia" Hanging Ornament for Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda DT!

 I'm kicking off the celebrations today with two projects, see my first project HERE and now here's my 2nd!

 "Layered Poinsettia"

 This multi-layered and fussy cut hanging wall ornament features the following stamps:

 Carmen's Veranda: Poinsettia Background 

Lost Coast Designs: new Loopy Calligraphy

This one involves lots of die cutting with nesting Lifestyle Crafts Quickutz inverted squares dies, stamping with black Versafine ink and a combination of Memento and Distress Inks.  The panels are edged in metallic gold for a touch of elegance and matted on die cut black cardstock.  The poinsettia is coloured with Copics, consists of fussy cut layers with a touch of clear Wink of Stella for some Christmas magic.  I added gold eyelets and embellished with a pink tassel and a gold swirl hanger.
