Day 4
"Love is the Strongest Magic"

My finale make for you today is a gothic scene showing how love truly is the strongest magic...even from beyond the grave🖤

This piece features Heart Tree, No Rest for the Wicked, Raggedy Heart Strings and the Love is the Strongest Magic set.  

 

 

I've conjured up a magical twilight scene of a lone grave beneath a winter tree shrouded in fog.  The engraving on the tombstone says "Love is the Strongest Magic"🖤

 

 

Hanging from the tree above is a dripping broken heart.  From a single drop of blood a magic spell shoots down in a glittering swirl of stars to the grave below where it dramatically brings the lost loved one back to life.

 

 

I designed the scene then printed it out onto mixed media cardstock and trimmed to make a slimline panel.  I used masking fluid to mask the scene and created the magical twilight sky with Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet, Hickory Smoke and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide inks and splattered with Distress Oxide Wilted Violet and Distress Brushed Pewter sprays.

 

After removing the mask I applied more fog with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink and a magical glow with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink over the images.  I darkened the outer edges with Black Soot Distress ink to create more drama then edged the card panel with Spectrum Noir Midas Silver pigment ink.  I coloured the heart with Prismacolor pencils and the bow with a metallic gold gel pen.  I then applied pearlescent yellow Viva Pearl gel to the stars for a magical 3D effect and finished off by mounting the panel onto a folded card base made from black heavy weight cardstock.

For my finale project I crammed everyone into a SPOOktacular side step card👻
By the light of the Kitty Luna moon Oddleigh Witchiepoo has cast a spell over the horde below!  The Zombie Stare, The Zombie Scream, No Rest for the Wicked, an Alien, a UFO, Special Agent Boston Terrier and Special Agent Foxy are heading your way and they WANT candy👻

EEEEEEk!  Who turned out the lights!!!!!

Phew...THAT wasy spooky!!!!

 All the Copic coloured characters were fussy cut out and layered onto a magical Distress Oxide galaxy sky.  This time I also added glow-in-the-dark stars to the sky as well as the moon, Alien's eyes and the UFO.

I made the step card from a sheet of black cardstock and cut panels from the galaxy sky background to fit.  I then adhered all the characters to the background panels and cut around them to form the top edge of each panel. The sentiment is made up with words from the Red Tape Snippets.

Neo got in on the action as usual😸

"No Rest for the Wicked"

For your enjoyment today I altered a craft coffin box featuring my new design No Rest for the Wicked and the Moon is from Kitty Luna💀

I have quite a stash of coffin boxes but couldn't resist this one I found at Target this year coz it's a nice deep one with lots of space to decorate.  I used Black Soot Distress Stain to paint it black.

Coloured No Rest for the Wicked and the Kitty Luna moon with Copics and fussy cut them out.

I created a spooktacular galaxy sky with Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans Distress Oxides, Black Soot Distress ink, Crushed Grape and Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions sprays and white acrylic paint.  I covered the box with panels cut from the background paper and adhered the images to the box lid then embellished the lid and sides of the box with bats and graveyard scenes die cut from black cardstock.

The images and die cuts look faBOOlous against the mesmerizing galaxy sky...love it!

Neo checked out the Zombie hands and declared he's no scaredy cat😸

Looks wickedly creepy in the spooky evening glow too!

"Red Tape" coz you know, you have to cut through a lot of red tape in the government😉
Of course you NEED a stash of sci-fi themed words to go with your new characters so I designed a full sheet of red and white embossed labels and threw in some Halloween words too for good measure!  Print them out and cut out the words you need to compliment a project or use the sheet to create backgrounds!  Either way you'll find many uses for the word snippets👽
