Four of the six wicked awesome Candy Bats steal the show on today's slimline book panel.
I coloured the flying fiends digitally in Adobe Fresco, printed them onto white cardstock and fussy cut them all out with scissors.
For
lots of magical sparkle I added touches of Diamond Stickles glitter and painted their black eyes with a Spectrum Noir Black Glitter Brush pen.
My
31 Days of Halloween makes are going in a book I'm making. First
I cut a slimline 4" x 9" book panel from heavy weight black
cardstock then a mat layer cut 1/8" smaller from black glitter cardstock which I edged with Spectrum Noir Midas Copper pigment ink before adhering it to the slimline book panel.
For my main background I used a print of my orange designer paper that says "31 Days of Halloween" all over it from the 31 Days of Halloween Decorative Digi Paper Pack. My printer ink was running low at the time and it printed half in orange and half in a greenish hue which was a great happy accident to keep in my stash of paper. I cut the panel 1/8" smaller than the black glitter cardstock layer and edged it with Spectrum Noir Midas Copper pigment ink.
The faBOOlous curved trees are a fun way to use my Forest Faerie Ring SVG Cutz set.
The set includes 2 versions and each is provided in 2 sizes and for this make I used the large size of Version 1 which completely cut the design out of the black cardstock.
I then cut the Forest Faerie Ring in half and applied black glitter glue with gold specks in it to both sections. Once dry I adhered the half rings to the top and bottom edges of the main panel and trimmed away the overhang.
I then trimmed the main panel following the curve of the faerie rings and applied more copper pigment ink to the black edges which makes them pop nicely against the black glitter card.
I then adhered all the Candy Bats to the slimline book panel with black foam tape for lots of fun dimension with the largest at the top to give the illusion they're flying out of the forest straight at us! Eeeek! RUN!
The "Trick or Treat" senti is from my faBOOlous new Halloween Senties set of 2 traditional Halloween sentiments included in the CAToWeen Halloween 2024 Collection.
I printed the sentiment out then fussy cut it out with an offset using my Silhouette Cameo 5.
I applied Peeled Paint and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks to the senti to colour it and then edged it with a touch of copper pigment ink and adhered it in place with black foam tape.
I then completed today's slimline book panel with bats die cut from black cardstock using the Tim Holtz Mixed Media die and bent all their little wings up.
