"Count Catula"

Loveleigh Kitty Slimline Book Panel

I'm kicking off Day 1 of our 31 Days of Halloween SPOOKtivities with my PURRtastic "Count Catula" Slimline book panel featuring a Loveleigh Kitty and matching senti from my new CAToWeen Loveleigh Kitties Halloween 2024 Collection and my wicked awesome FUNdamental Foundations Slimline Coffins Nesting SVG Cutz set for electronic cutting machines.

 

 

 Count Catula Loveleigh Kitty is the star vampire kitty of today's make.

 

 

 

I coloured him digitally in Adobe Fresco, printed him out in all his colourful glory and then fussy cut him out with scissors leaving a narrow white border that makes him pop nicely against the background papers.  Isn't he magnificently adorable in his traditional red vampire cloak, yellow bow tie and a touch of non-traditional Halloween blue for his waist coat that's embellished with gold bat shaped buttons!

 

 

My 31 Days of Halloween makes are going in a book I'm making so I started out with a slimline 4" x 9" book panel I made from heavy weight black cardstock.  Count Catula needed a batty background so I cut a panel 1/8 inch smaller from a sheet of Recollections "Moonlit Manor" paper and edged it with Spectrum Noir Midas Gold pigment ink for a touch of distressed metallic elegance.  I then adhered the batty background to the black panel with glue.

 

 

 

For the mat and layered Coffin panels I used my SPOOKtacular FUNdamental Foundations Slimline Coffins Nesting SVG Cutz set for electronic cutting machines.  The set includes 7 concentric slimline coffin mats and layers for making slimline cards, tags and more!

 

I used the 3 largest coffin SVG Cutz to create my mat and layered coffin background and cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo 5 electronic cutting machine and the awesome electrostatic mat.
 

I cut the largest and smallest coffins from a sheet of Crafter's Companion Vintage Halloween cardstock in shades of blue that PURRfectly matches Count Catula's blue waist coat and the middle coffin from black cardstock.  I edged all the coffin panels with Spectrum Noir Midas Gold pigment ink for even more distressed metallic elegance.

 

 

I adhered the black coffin directly onto the large blue coffin panel and mounted those onto the slimline book panel with glue.  I then adhered the top blue coffin panel and Count Catula kitty in place with black foam tape for lots of FURtastic dimension.

 

 

The finishing touch is the Count Catula sentie from my new matching Count Catula Senties set of 4 digi stamp sentiments.  I opened the sentiment in Adobe Photoshop and switched the colours around for the fun white text on a black background look and fussy cut the sentiment out with scissors.  I then mounted the senti to the panel with black foam tape.
