Day 30 of 31 Days of Halloween
"Furness Forest"
Wicked Alice Keyhole
Panel #15
by Leigh
Alice ran past the large wicked topiaries guarding the castle entrance and heard the 2 friendly jack o' lanterns on top whisper "Good bye Alice".
"Thank you" she called back as she ran headlong into the darkness of Wicked Wonderland.
She stopped for a minute to catch her breath when she heard the castle door slam open followed by the pounding of many clawed feet as the wicked Card Guards relentlessly chased her.
"Oh dear, Oh dear" said Alice and continued to race back along the path.
Alice came upon the wicked Tweedle Twins playing hide and seek in the dark but thankfully didn't notice her as she ran past.
Next she saw the Mad Hatter enjoying a nice cup of tea, he spotted her immediately and joined her on her sprint.
"It has been awfully good to see you again Alice, here have a sip of tea" said Hatter.
Alice managed a sip or two then bid him a fond farewell.
"Don't worry Alice, I will slow the Card Guards down for a bit, they can never resist a good cup of tea" he shouted as she continued on with her escape.
Alice knew she was going the right way when next she spotted the comfy mushroom with a cloud of glowing smoke encircling it.
"Ah, there you are Alice, say, did you solve your puzzling puzzle?" asked the Caterpillar.
"I did indeed" said Alice, "Ah, that's good" he said and went back to leisurely puffing his smoke rings.
Alice finally reached the clearing where she'd first encountered the wicked Cheshire Cat. She turned in circles realizing she couldn't remember which way to go to reach the tiny door.
"Well Well Well, look who made it out of the Royal Court with her head intact" purred the wicked grin in the darkness.
"With no thanks to you I might add! Show yourself and tell me which way to go" snapped Alice.
"Where to go all depends on where you want to be" riddled the wicked Cheshire Cat's grin.
"No more tricks now, I do so need to get back home" said Alice.
"Where's the treat in no more tricks? You know the way and you know the how" riddled the wicked Cat.
Alice nearly lost her temper when she suddenly realized she did indeed know the how. Slowly turning in a circle she asked the dark forest."Which way to Furness Forest?"
Suddenly the magical Lamp Post appeared in front of her with it's wicked jack o' lantern candle flickering it's merry dance.
Alice read the arrow signs and quickly set off in the direction she needed to go.
"Farewell until next time" purred the wicked Cheshire Cat as Alice waved good bye.
Alice found the tiny door and unlocked it with her Heart Key. Before she could shrink to fit the White Rabbit appeared, took her hand and said,
"Ever so sorry Alice, I just didn't put 2 and 2 together or is it 4 and 4, I can never remember which! Let me help you get back home!"
Alice nodded and holding hands they suddenly whooshed back up the Rabbit Hole.
They burst out into Furness Forest where the forest spiders had been very busy decorating for Halloween.
"Good bye Alice" said the White Rabbit sheepishly, I hope you'll visit us again soon?"
"I'd like that very much although I think I should skip the invitations to the Queen of Hearts parties next time.
"I think that would be most wise" said the White Rabbit as he glanced at his pocket watch and shrieked,
"Oh no, I'm late for a very important date" and jumped down the rabbit hole.
"Happy Halloween" Alice called after him and his reply echoed back up to her.
Alice looked around her and sighed with relief...back home safe and sound!
...or is she.....
I'm back for Day 30 of our 31 Days of Halloween SPOOKtivities with the 15th in a series of panels featuring designs from my new Wicked Wonderland Halloween Collection. The panels will be stored in an ornate tin I'm altering and all will be revealed tomorrow on Oct 31st!
Panel #15 features the Furness Forest Wicked Alice Keyhole, the Wicked Lamp Post,
Falling Wicked Alice and the Wicked Arrow Signs set.
I coloured the digi images in Adobe Fresco then printed and fussy cut them all out leaving a narrow white border to make them all "glow" and pop nicely
against the background.
Using
the keyhole template I made based on the ornate tin I'm altering, I cut
the shape of the main panel from heavy weight black cardstock and 1/4" smaller background mat layers for both sides of the panel cut from the Crafter's Companion Halloween paper pad. I then edged all the pieces with Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink and adhered them to the black panel.
I adhered the "Furness Forest" Wicked Alice Keyhole and the wicked Lamp Post in place with black foam tape to create fun dimension.
To make the arrow signs nice and chunky I matted them onto black cardstock, fussy cut them out then adhered them to the Lamp Post with glue.
To tell the panel's story I used the "Magical" and "Miracles happen when you believe" Lost in Wonderland chunky chipboard
stickers by Prima Marketing to the back panel. I coloured the sides of the chipboard pieces
with a Spectrum Noir metallic gold paint pen and adhered them in place
with glue.
I added tiny magical dots of Tim Holtz' Ignite Neon Alcohol ink to he panel and turned on the black light.
So spooky and pretty!
For panel #15 I used
See you tomorrow for Day 31 of our 31 Days of Halloween countdown!
