Day 16 of 31 Days of Halloween
"Eat or Drink" Wicked Alice
Panel #5
by Leigh
Alice finally reached the bottom of the wicked Rabbit Hole with her Heart Key gripped tightly in her hand and passed through a magical barrier as she gently landed on her feet.
Anxiously she looked for her bunny who was nowhere to be seen and grimaced when she saw her knife had impaled a jack o' lantern, "oh dear" said Alice.
In
amazement Alice noticed her dress had magically changed and her bodice was covered in hearts that looked just like the White Rabbit's royal tunic and her ankle boots were now gorgeous knee high boots. Pleased with the change she did a twirl to admire her new outfit and realized she was now also wearing a wicked witch hat which nearly fell off her head.
Looking around at her surroundings she spotted the tiny door to Wonderland and walked over for a closer look. Next to the door was a table where two magical objects were waiting for her.
One was a pumpkin cake with a tag that said "Eat Me" and the other was a tea cup that said "Drink Me".
"Curiouser and Curiouser" said Alice!
Alice remembered the effects of eating and drinking the last time she was in Wonderland, but now it's Halloween and everything was quite wicked. Looking at the pumpkin cake and the tea cup she wondered if this was a trick or a treat!
Well there is only one way to get through the tiny door to Wonderland so Alice started to nibble the pumpkin cake and sip the tea until she reached the right size.
I'm back for Day 16 of our 31 Days of Halloween SPOOKtivities with the 5th in a series of panels featuring designs from my new Wicked Wonderland Halloween Collection.
The panels will be stored in an ornate tin I'm altering and all will be revealed on Oct 31st π
This panel features the "Eat of Drink" Wicked Alice with elements taken from Falling Wicked Alice. I coloured everything digitally
in Adobe Fresco, printed them then fussy cut everything out including the tiny stars leaving a narrow white border to make them "glow" and pop nicely
against the background.
I added a pretty magical shimmer to Alice's outfit, tags, pumpkins and knife with a clear Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen.
The jack o' lanterns and the knife are from the Falling Wicked Alice image. To impale the jack o' lantern with the knife I cut a slit in the pumpkin, coloured the edge with a black sharpie and glued the knife tip inside the slit.
Using the keyhole template, made based on the shape of the ornate tin I'm altering, I cut the shape of the main panel from heavy weight black cardstock and a 1/4" smaller background mat layer cut from a sheet of cardstock called Joyous Possibilities from Graphic 45's Curiouser and Curiouser paper pad. I edged both pieces with Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink and adhered them together.
I then adhered Alice and the "Trick or Treat" arrow senti and pumpkin to the panel with black foam tape for lots of fun dimension. The pumpkin and knife plus the "Rabbit Hole" arrow senti, that's pointing the way back up, were adhered in place with glue.
I applied Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink to the edges of the back panel and the mat layer cut from a sheet of Recollections Halloween paper covered in spell ingredients and adhered them together. I used the "Curiouser and Curiouser" Arrow Senti to tell the story of panel #5. I made the "Trick or Treat" and "Curiouser and Curiouser" Arrow Senties chunkier by adhering them to heavy weight black cardstock and fussy cut them out again. I then used more fussy cut objects and stars from the Falling Wicked Alice image on the back panel and adhered everything in place with glue.
Now you know me, I don't do Halloween without some kind of light element or glow-in-the-dark effect! To the front of this panel I added tiny magical dots of Tim Holtz' Ignite Neon Alcohol ink to just the pumpkin's eyes and on the back panel I added it to the pumpkin and Candy Bat's eyes....then turned on the black light to reveal all the magic.
So FUN and SPOOKY!
For panel #5 I used "Eat of Drink" Wicked Alice
See you tomorrow for Day 17 of our 31 Days of Halloween countdown!
Happy CRAFTober!
