Day 20 of 31 Days of Halloween
"We're All Mad Here"
Wicked Cheshire Cat
Panel #7 by Leigh
In the magical dawn twilight the wicked outline of a cat lurked and the shadows surrounding Alice started to purr. Suddenly a wicked grin appeared and floated just in front of her face closely followed by two very large glowing eyes that winked mischievously at her.
"Well there you are, it's about time you showed yourself!" declared Alice.
Feeling perturbed that his sudden appearance hadn't startled Alice he decided to try something new. The air shimmered and a very striking cat wearing the most magnificent top hat materialized.
"How peculiar...why are you a mushroom covered in fur?" asked Alice as she sat down and placed her knife next to the two jack o' lanterns nestled in the grass.
The enigmatic Cheshire Cat's wicked grin widened even more to reveal every single pointy tooth in his large round head.
"Why indeed?" asked the wicked Cheshire Cat as he stood there swaying on a single stork with a beautiful scarf fluttering behind him in the breeze.
"I have so many questions you see" said Alice as she looked up at the strange kitty.
"Do you know why the Rabbit Hole suddenly appeared to me on Halloween?
Why did I have to travel down to Wonderland disguised as the White Rabbit?
Why is Wonderland looking so wicked, do you know what is going on?"
"Maybe I know, maybe I don't" said the Cheshire Cat cryptically.
"You are quite maddening when you can't simply answer a question" said Alice with a sigh.
"Well...we're all mad here you know" said the Cheshire Cat looking quite pleased with himself.
"Lets go find everyone else and see if they know what's going on...oh, you might want to magic yourself some paws" said Alice.
The Cheshire Cat shape shifted into his barely there wicked self and stalked after Alice down the path.
I'm back for Day 20 of our 31 Days of Halloween SPOOKtivities with the 7th in a series of panels featuring designs from my new Wicked Wonderland Halloween Collection.
The panels will be stored in an ornate tin I'm altering and all will be revealed on Oct 31st π
This panel features the SPOOKtacular Wicked Cheshire Cat with night creatures and objects taken from Falling Wicked Alice, the SVG Cutz Carved Skelly Cat for electronic cutting machines made an appearance on the back panel and I also used a quote from the Wicked Arrow Signs set as well.
I coloured the digi images in Adobe Fresco then printed and fussy cut them all out leaving a narrow white border to make everything "glow" and pop nicely
against the background.
I added magical shimmer to the images with a clear Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen, painted the Cheshire Cat's eyes with glow-in-the-dark paint and embellished the Candy Bat and the jack o' lantern's eyes with Tim Holtz Ignite Neon Alcohol ink.
Using the keyhole template I made based on the ornate tin I'm altering, I cut the shape of the main panel from heavy weight black cardstock and a 1/4" smaller background mat layer cut from a sheet of gothic cardstock from the Thorn and Bloom paper pad by Crafter's Companion. I edged both pieces with Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink and adhered them together.
I adhered most of the images to the front panel with glue then the Arrow Sign, one fluttering playing card and the two pumpkins in place with black foam tape for lots of fun dimension.
For the back panel I used more of the BOOtiful gothic roses cardstock and edged the panels in gold and adhered them together. I then adhered the wicked awesome Carved Skelly Cat SVG Cutz which I cut out of black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 5 electronic cutting machine. I added the "Nothing is impossible" Lost in
Wonderland chunky chipboard sticker by Prima Marketing to tell the story of this panel, I coloured the sides of the chipboard with a Spectrum Noir
metallic gold paint pen and adhered it in place with glue.
Now you know me, I don't do Halloween without some kind of light element or glow-in-the-dark effect!
On the front panel I used Tim Holtz' Ignite Neon Alcohol ink and glow-in-the-dark paint on both the front and back panel. I then turned on the black light to reveal all the magic.
So wickedly SPOOKY!
For panel #7 I used the Wicked Cheshire Cat
the SVG Cutz Carved Skelly Cat for electronic cutting machines
the Wicked Arrow Signs set
See you tomorrow for Day 21 of our 31 Days of Halloween countdown!
Happy CRAFTober!
