Day 22 of 31 Days of Halloween
Mad Hatter Wicked Alice
Panel #8
by Leigh
Alice, Cheshire Cat and the White Rabbit came across a large red mushroom in a clearing surrounded by giant roses. Alice noticed the Mad Hatter's top hat was perched on top of the comfy looking mushroom right next to a wicked Jack o' Lantern. Alice looked around curiously for her friend but he was nowhere to be seen. Feeling quite tired Alice decided to sit on the mushroom for a spell and wait for him. She jumped up and put the top hat on her head revealing the Caterpillar hidden behind it.
"Why Alice, is that you, what in the world are you doing here?" asked the Caterpillar in surprise.
"I was really hoping you could tell me" said Alice in dismay.
"I couldn't presume to know what you decide to do on any given day" declared the Caterpillar.
"Well you see, things have gotten rather odd with an extra dash of peculiar" said Alice and proceeded to recount the events of her adventure into Wicked Wonderland.
"That is indeed a puzzle and one shouldn't puzzle over puzzles without a nice cup of tea" said the Mad Hatter as he suddenly appeared from behind a rose bush.
Everyone looked in amazement at the tea cups stacked precariously high on the tray he was casually holding.
In exasperation the White Rabbit looked at his pocket watch and muttered,
"Are you mad, we don't have time for tea, I'm late you know!!!"
They all looked at Rabbit in amusement and declared in unison,
"Yes we are, we're all quite mad here remember!
In a huff the White Rabbit sat down and accepted a cup of tea.
I'm back for Day 22 of our 31 Days of Halloween SPOOKtivities with the 8th in a series of panels featuring designs from my new Wicked Wonderland Halloween Collection.
The panels will be stored in an ornate tin I'm altering and all will be revealed on Oct 31st π
This panel features the BOOtiful Mad Hatter Wicked Alice as well as "Cheshire" Loveleigh Kitty and "Rabbit" Loveleigh Bunny from the Loveleigh Kitties in Wonderland collection.
I coloured all the digi images in Adobe Fresco then printed and fussy cut them all out leaving a narrow white border to make them all "glow" and pop nicely
against the background. I added magical shimmer to the images with a clear Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen and metallic shine to Alice's boot lace studs with a metallic gold gel pen.
Using
the keyhole template I made based on the ornate tin I'm altering, I cut
the shape of the main panel from heavy weight black cardstock and a
1/4" smaller background mat layer cut from a sheet of gothic cardstock
from the Thorn and Bloom paper pad by Crafter's Companion. Next I edged the pieces with Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink
and adhered the front panel pieces together.
I
then adhered the Mad Hatter Wicked Alice image in place with black foam
tape for some fun dimension and cut the Cheshire and Rabbit images off
above the waist and glued them both peeking out
from behind Alice cheekily as they all look on in amazement at the arrival of the Mad Hatter.
I painted the Cheshire Cat's grin and added eye highlights to everyone with glow-in-the-dark paint. I then painted their heart shaped noses and the jack o' lantern's eyes with Tim Holtz Ignite Neon Alcohol ink and turned on the black light to reveal the magic!
But wait...there's more...wink wink wink!
For the back panel I used more of the BOOtiful Graphic 45 cardstock I used on panel #1 and #2 and edged the pieces with the gold pigment ink.
Now for some magical stenciling with Tim Holtz Distress glow-the-dark grit paste using an Alice in Wonderland themed stencil by Crafter's Companion. Once dry I adhered the stenciled layer to the back panel with glue.
I like the look of this panel in daylight as it's in keeping with the
invisible or barely there nature of the Cheshire Cat who originally said this
iconic quote.
Now you know me, I don't do Halloween without some kind of light element or glow-in-the-dark effect and the stenciled panel just GLOWS BOOtifully in the black light!
So wicked awesome, I love it!
For panel #8 I used the Mad Hatter Wicked Alice
See you tomorrow for Day 23 of our 31 Days of Halloween countdown!
Happy CRAFTober!
