It’s here, LeighSBDesigns most anticipated 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop is finally here with a twist this year...I'm excited to announce we now have a monthly challenge too so creep on in and countdown to Halloween in LeighSBDesigns style🎃

 

 

Woohoo, October is the most SPOOKTACULAR time of the year and I’m thrilled to be back with our 11th annual 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop where we gleefully countdown to October 31st in SPOOKtacular style and this year there's a new twist for even more wicked good fun!

Stress free creative fun designed to inspire and bring makers together is the name of the game so our annual hops plus the monthly hops we've had a blast hosting to help keep our creative spirits up throughout the pandemic are all merging into one big creative Hop+Challenge party where, as usual, YOU choose when and how often YOU play starting with 31 Days of Halloween!  There are 3 ways to play and LeighSBDesigns has proudly partnered up with some fabulous companies to sponsor prizes for you to win plus all winners are invited to Guest Design in future Hop+Challenges too🎉

Day 7

"Mushroom Faerie Ring"

Once Upon a Nightmare...deep in the Furness Forest is an enchanted Mushroom Faerie Ring where Fae Folk play with Bats swirling around them and the Wicked Witch with her cat Hissy like to watch from the shadows....

  

On the 7th Day of our 31 Days of Halloween Hop+Challenge I'm back with a spellbinding candle luminary featuring a digi stamp and many SVG Cutz from my new Once Upon a Nightmare Collection!

 

I designed a 3 sided candle luminary in Silhouette Studio and cut my new Mushroom Faerie Ring Layered Lace SVG Cutz out of the center of each panel from black heavy weight cardstock.

 

I applied bronze and gold Spectrum Noir metallic wax to the outside of each panel, leaving the actual Mushroom Faerie Rings in black, to give the candle luminary a burnished metal look.

I then printed the Dancing Faeries from my new Fae Folk Silhouettes set 3 times onto a sheet of vellum, cut out 3 panels and adhered them to the back of each of the Mushroom Faerie Ring panels which I then covered with black square panels with circles cut out the centers to make the inside of the luminary look nice too.

I decorated the panels of the luminary with the Wicked Witch and Hissy Cat Silhouettes Layered SVG Cutz, the Fae Folk Silhouettes Layered SVG Cutz, Salem from the Black Cat Silhouettes Layered SVG Cutz and lots of Bats from the Gothic Nightmare Catcher SVG Cutz all cut from black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 4.  

I then poked holes through the luminary panels so all the bat eyes and the lantern held by the dwarf also glow in the candle light!

 

The finished luminary is so fun and magical especially with all the bat eyes and the dwarf lantern glowing with candle light too!

 

The faeries are having a wonderful time swirling and dancing in the glowing midnight mist while they excitedly await Halloween night!
