"Once Upon a Starry Night"
Shadowbox Card by Leigh
Once Upon a Starry Night...Hansel and Gretel were being drawn deep into the Furness Forest when suddenly the fog parted to reveal a most spellbinding sight! In the glow of the enchanted Moon stood a magical cottage where black cats prowled and on the steps stood the wicked Witch beckoning them....
I'm back for Day 5 of our 31 Days of Halloween Hop+Challenge with a spellbinding shadowbox card that lights up featuring digi stamps and SVG Cutz from my new Once Upon a Nightmare Collection!
I created a digital painting with the Furness Forest Cottage and Trees set, Wicked Witch and Jinx Black Cat Senti set and Salem kitty from the Black Cats and Senti set.
I then opened my painting in Silhouette Studio and sized it to perfectly fit my new magical Once Upon a Starry Night Layered SVG Cutz which I cut from Crafter’s Companion black cardstock and purple glitter card. I then printed the painting out.
"Hansel and Gretel” are the little Girl and Boy silhouettes included in the Come Little Children Silhouette and Senti digi stamp set.
I printed and fussy cut them out using my Silhouette Cameo 4 and painted them with clear Spectrum Noir glitter paint.
Next I cut the Enchanted Moon and Clouds from the Once Upon A Moonlit Night Colourize It SVG Cutz set. I used black cardstock for the moon base, purple glitter card for the 2nd layer and textured white cardstock for the top moon layer and all the clouds and I then painted all the white elements with the clear glitter pen for even more pretty sparkle.
The “Happy Halloween” Senti is from my new Wicked Compendium of Halloween Sayings set which I printed and fussy cut out using my Cameo and also created a mat layer for it cut from the purple glitter card.
I painted some vellum with yellow Spectrum Noir glitter paint and covered all the cut outs in the purple glitter card layer and then attached string lights to the back of the panel. I made a shadowbox from heavy weight black cardstock and adhered the purple panel to the box with glue and the black overlay panel with black foam tape for even more dimension. I then adhered all the elements to the card front and attached a little easel stand to the back where the string light’s switch is hidden.
