Day 23
"The Moon Made Me Do It"
Card by Leigh
Once
Upon a Nightmare....the Wicked Moon cast an eerie glow upon Furness Forest putting everything it touched into a trance....spellbound the little girl clutched her balloon and floated up into the starry night...drawn to the whispering Moon…
For Day 23 of our SPOOKtacular 31 Days of Halloween Hop+Challenge I'm back with a spellbinding card featuring digi stamps and SVG Cutz from my new Once Upon a Nightmare Collection!
The Wicked Moon is causing mischief in the Furness Forest Winter Treescape and the little Balloon Girl from the Come Little Children and Saying set is caught in its wicked spell.
I created and coloured my scene in Adobe Fresco with an Apple Pencil on my iPad, then added stars with a white Dylusions paint pen after I printed it out.
In Silhouette Studio I made the top cut layer of my new Once Upon a Starry Night Layered SVG Cutz a bit larger and sized the digital painting to fit and then cut just the overlay out of black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 4.
Gleefully watching the scene unfold from the shadows is my stack of Jack o' Lanterns Layered Lace SVG Cut.
I cut the lace overlay of this wicked trio of pumpkins from black cardstock and the base mat layer from a piece of my painted scene which gives a disappearing “Cheshire Cat” like quality to them which fits in with the weirdness of the scene quite nicely. I then cut the overlay again from my Oxide paper for a bit of paper piecing to give the Jack o’ Lanterns their wicked glowing faces. I edged all the cuts with Black Soot Distress Ink…even the teeny tiny triangle eyes.
Of course my scene had to have some glow-in-the-dark magic!
I used some scraps of the spooktacular Silhouette GITD sticker paper and backed all the Star cut outs with it! Ooooo...the glow is so electric! Love it!
The perfect saying for my scene is included in the faBOOlous A Wicked Compendium of Halloween Sayings. I printed it and cut it out with an offset and made a shadow mat layer which I cut from
black cardstock. I applied Black Soot Distress Ink to the edge of the senti and then used a clear Spectrum Noir glitter sparkle pen on the the shadow layer, the kitty, the Jack o’ Lanterns, the Balloon Girl and the Moon for lots of magical shimmer!
I then edged the whole panel with metallic silver Spectrum Noir Midas pigment ink and mounted it onto a folded card base I made from black heavy weight cardstock. I then adhered the kitty, senti and Jack o’ Lanterns to the card with black foam tape.
