π Roosting Batleighs π
card by Leigh
My Day 21 of 31 Days of Halloween Hop inspiration for you today is a spooktacular scene of 3 too cute to spook Batleighs roosting in a Tree of Raggedy Heartsπ
The sun is setting and Bram, Betsi and Grim Batleigh are waking up from their long October nap!
3 Batleighs roosting in a tree
OMGee
What a sight to see!
I coloured the Batleighs and the Tree of Raggedy Hearts with Prismacolor pencils and drew back in some outlines with a black Micron pen and coloured the bows with a gold gel pen.
These are the teeniest critters you ever did see and by fussy cutting them out, detaching the wings and wrapping them up for some upside down nap time I turned my flying Batleighs into roosting cuties!
I created the magical background with Hickory Smoke, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide inks and Black Soot Distress Ink applied with ink applicators. I then splattered with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide and Tarnished Pewter Distress Stain sprays after protecting the tree and heart with masking fluid.
I removed the other 3 hearts from the Tree of Raggedy Hearts design before printing and dangled the lil Batleighs from the strings. After assembling each Batleigh I curved them over a paint brush handle to enhance the 3D effect and adhered them to the card front with black foam tape. Cutting up the horizontal senti included in the set is another fun way you can play with this creepy cute set too!
I then mounted the scene onto black and violet cardstock mats and a black folded card base made from heavy weight cardstock.
