Slimline Coffin Card

My make for Day 5 of our SPOOKTACULAR 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop is a faBOOlous slimline coffin card featuring Digi Stamps, SVG Cutz and Decorative Digi Papers from my new THIS IS HALLOWEEN 2023 Collection 🎃

The faBOOlous Incy Wincy Spider slimline digi stamp is the focal point of my slimline coffin shaped card. The scene depicts a stack of gleefully grinning pumpkins snugly nestled inside the coffin shape with the top pumpkin delighted at the sight of the spider descending from the spiderweb above them 🎃

I coloured the Incy Wincy Spider slimline digi stamp digitally in Adobe Fresco and printed the coloured image out twice and fussy cut out just the pumpkin stack from the 2nd print. I then enchanced the print with Prismacolor pencils and white gel pen details.

I then cut out a mat layer in the coffin shape from the middle of an orange printed sheet that had the Gothic 13-31 design down the sides, which I'm using for another make, from my new This is Halloween Decorative Digi Paper pack. I then edged both the main panel and the mat with Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink.

I made the coffin shaped slimline folded card base using my faBOOlous new Slimline Coffin Shaker Make-a-Card SVG Cutz which is part of my new FUNdamental Foundations SVG Cutz range. The slimline coffin folded card base comes with 2 little notches, top and bottom, to allow you to perfectly line it up on your scoreboard and score the fold line. Using my Silhouette Cameo 4 electronic cutting machine I cut the folded card from black cardstock and a mat layer for the inside of the card from a green sheet of my digi paper covered with Halloween themed wording that is also included in the new This is Halloween Decorative Digi Paper pack and edged the green layer with Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink and added a large Tim Holtz Bat Crazy die cut.

PRO TIP

If you like to load up the front of the coffin slimline card with lots of heavy layers I recommend cutting the bottom edge of the back panel with a more extreme angled edge to allow the card to lean backwards a bit - that will make the top heavy shaped card stable when standing!

I also applied Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink to just the front of the folded slimline coffin card base then assembled to the card front with black foam tape to create lots of fun dimension.

I completed my faBOOlous coffin slimline card with 3 tiny Tim Holtz die cut bats!
