"Ode to Poe"
card by Leigh

My project today is a card dedicated to the Master of the Macabre featuring my realistic Ode to Poe portrait design that incorporates titles from his body of work!

You know I love to make fussy cut-away cards and this time the entire right hand side is cut away, front and back!   I coloured Poe with Copics in a monochromatic colour palette and used Weathered Wood and Stormy Sky Distress Inks to add colour to the text and the decorative Raven card base.

Lots of fussy cutting, layering and embellishing going on!  Poe is completely fussy cut out and then cut out again once adhered to the card.  I used a decorative Marvy paper punch on 3 corners, applied black glitter glue to the card edges and added embellishments adhered with glue dots and clear 3D foam tape.  The paper flowers and the black glitter card die cut Raven were included in a Halloween prize I won last year and I added a slate grey rhinestone for an eye and black diamonds to the flower centers.  They are the perfect embellies for my card, thanks Lyneen😋

Neo giving his seal of aPOEroval, nothing gets past him😻

    1. I think Mr Poe might secretly be pleased LOL, anything related to horror and the macabre is instant Halloween fodder and Mr Poe's bizarre death in the month of October just adds more spooky spice to his literary genius!

  4. That's a fabulous image of Poe with his works of art listed; I love
any type of script on a project. Love the raven, of course, as well
as the pretty flowers. And being cut away is also a fave card type.
