Day 3
"Dreamer of Dreams"
POE Puss Loveleigh Kitty
Slimline Diorama Card
by Leigh

Happy Birthday Edgar Allan Poe ❤

My inspiration for Day 3 of our POEtastic 9th annual Edgar Allan Poe creativities is a dramatic diorama slimline card featuring my brand new Edgar Allan POE Puss and decorative digi paper from the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Paper Pack.

Isn't he the most handsome kitty you've ever seen😸

I coloured Edgar Allan POE Puss in Adobe Fresco and printed him out in various sizes then further enhanced my colouring with Prismacolor pencils.  Today's POE Puss is about 8 inches tall and to make him pop nicely against the background I fussy cut him out leaving a narrow white border, adhered him to black cardstock and then fussy cut that out too leaving a narrow black border.

All the drama is happening INSIDE my slimline card today.  I made a dramatic diorama scene for POE Puss where he's immersed in a moody forest surrounded by a conspiracy of ravens.

The fabulous digi paper I used here is called "Raven Tree", from the Classic Poe - Vintage Grunge Digi Art Paper Pack, and I printed out the design onto white cardstock.

I made a 3.5 x 8.5 inch slimline card from heavy weight black cardstock and cut the "Raven Tree" print into two panels 1/4" smaller than the slimline card.  I then edged them with Spectrum Noir Midas Gold pigment ink and adhered them inside the slimline card.

From heavy weight cardstock I made two support pieces for POE Puss, one for his body and one for his head and adhered them in place close to the card fold.

I embellished the corners of the card with 3 lacy die cut corners from my stash I'd previously cut from black cardstock and coloured with a clear Spectrum Noir sparkle brush pen.

I then adhered Edgar Allan POE Puss to the supports.

For the finishing touch I used the DREAMER OF DREAMS sticker from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Metallic Stickerbook that I think echoes Poe's poem, A Dream Within a Dream, quite nicely.

I adhered the sticker to a scrap piece from one of my decorative digi Poe papers and trimmed leaving a narrow border around the sticker.  I made it a chunky element by adhering it to about 8 pieces of heavy weight black cardstock.  I then edged it with the gold pigment ink and adhered it to the top right corner of the diorama.

I hope my Poe make today for our 9th annual Edgar Allan Poe Birthday Celebrations has inspired you to join the fun!  All the deets and the linky are in the MAIN POST!
