Day 4
"Master and Servant"
Loveleigh Kitty Slimline Card
by Leigh

For Day 4 and the finale of our 7th annual Gothic Valentine celebration I've got a Gothic slimline card that plays with the theme of who is the boss in our kitty relationships...well, Cats of course, LOL!  My make features the Love Hearts Kitty from my new Loveleigh Kitties "The Love Cats" mini collection, Dark Handsome Stranger and my Valentine themed Decorative Digi Papers.

To make my Gothic slimline card I first printed out the Love Hearts Kitty and coloured her up with Copics and Prismacolor pencils in shades of grey to black with red hearts.  To make her pop nicely against the background I fussy cut her out leaving a narrow white border, layered her onto black cardstock and fussy cut out again leaving a narrow black border.

Next I combined Dark Handsome Stranger with the "Gothic Heart" digi paper from my "Grunge Hearts" Decorative Digi paper pack in Photoshop prior to printing.  I then used a die from Anna Griffin's Gothic 3D Concentric Frame Die set to make the fancy Gothic arch panel and left the bottom edge straight.  I then applied metallic gold gilding wax to the combined embossed and die cut edges.

For the slimline card I cut a folded card base from black cardstock, a slightly smaller mat layer from a sheet of Tim Holtz Halloween Backdrop papers and for the top panel I printed out my "Gothic Hearts" slimline digi paper from the "Valentine" Slimline Decorative Digi Paper pack.  I then used a Crafter's Companion Page Edge die to cut a fancy edge into the top and bottom of the panel.  I finished off the panels and base card with Spectrum Noir Midas gold pigment ink applied to all the edges.

The lace borders are die cut from black cardstock with a Tim Holtz Crochet die.  I then adhered all the elements to the card with wet glue.  I made the "Master and Servant" saying with my vintage Dymo label maker and trimmed down the words.  I then made them into chunkier pieces by adhering the words to two layers of deep red cardstock from my scraps.

For some fun dimension I adhered Love Hearts Kitty to the right hand side of the card with black foam tape.

The finishing touch is the red and gold heart charm which I attached to the card front with a tiny red rhinestone brad.

❤ Love Hearts Kitty makes a PURRtastic Valentine card, is PURRfect for everyone who loves cats and easily works for any occasion too just by switching out the sentiment and colours
