Day 3
"Raven Poe"
Jeweled Hanging Ornament
by Leigh
For Day 3 of our POEtastic 7th annual Poe Appreciation Blog Hop I'm back to share my "Raven Poe" jeweled hanging ornament featuring 2 of my new SVG Cutz sets included in the Edgar Allan Poe SVG Cutz 2022 releaseπ€
To make my POEtastic hanging ornament I used the Gothic Raven SVG Cutz set and the "POE" raven font letters included in the "POE" Raven and Classic Font Words SVG Cutz set.
The Gothic Raven set contains the lace overlay design and 3 mat layers and the "POE" Raven Font letters consist of the overlay letters and one mat layer for each letter. For this make I used my Silhouette Cameo 4 to cut out 2 of each overlay and all the mat layers which I then adhered together to make each piece nice and chunky. The black and grey cardstocks are from Crafter's Companion's neutral tones cardstock pack and the red from the warm tones cardstock pack.
I then applied Black Soot Distress ink to the edges of the all the chunky pieces except the black overlays which I grunged up with metallic silver Spectrum Noir gilding wax.
I then adhered all the layers of the Gothic Raven and "POE" Raven letters together to make the large ornament pieces.
I made the beaded elements using beautiful dark red and metallic black glass beads and metallic black jewelry findings.
I completed the jeweled hanging ornament by drilling holes through the multi-layered cardstock pieces with a sharp pokey tool and attached the beaded elements to the cardstock pieces with jump rings.
I love how it turned outπ€

Awesome, love how you have the fabulous Raven hanging in the frame with the Poe letters and beads!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layering of the raven, perfect color choices! The raven looks like the same material of the black metal stand it is hanging from, not paper! Clever use of beads- a gorgeous project!
ReplyDeleteFabulous hanging ornament. Love the letters with the ravens!
