“Oddleigh Be Mine”
card by Leigh
card by Leigh
I coloured Oddleigh Cherished Heart with Copics and Prismacolor pencils plus Ranger white gel pen highlights. Then I fussy cut her out leaving a narrow white border to make her pop against the black background and popped her up even more with black foam tape.
To create the background layers I used Fired Brick, Festive Berries and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Sprays to make the coloured background.
Then layered Crafter’s Companion black glitter cardstock die cut with Tim’s Falling Hearts on top with black foam tape to pop it off the coloured layer. I mounted the mats onto a folded card made from a sheet of heavy weight black cardstock.
I printed the “Be Mine” Heart Splatter onto more Distress Oxide Sprayed background, fussy cut it out and then painted the heart with pink Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. I used a black fine liner pen to enhance the design and I also painted all Oddleigh’s hearts and her lips with clear sparkle pen. It looks really sparkly and pretty in real life. I gave her little heart earring a bit of dimension with red Nuvo crystal drops.
To create the fun 3D embellishment I used Tim’s Heartbeat die and cut out two pieces from red cardstock and adhered them together to make it chunkier, then applied Viva Pearl Transparent Violet 3D gel for more dimension and a subtle shimmer. I then cut the heartbeat element so I could extend it across the entire bottom edge of the card.
Here’s some photos showing all the fun details.
My hubby is getting this card today for Valentine’s Day 😁
