"Serenity of the Sea" Asymmetrical Asian Amulet

Hello Friends!

This month the Blockheads Paper Arts DT has been playing with Grungeboard and today I'm sharing an asymmetrical Asian-water themed necklace I designed with Blockheads stamps, Jet Black StazOn ink, Grungeboard Shapes - Stripes, Perfect Pearls, Magic Transparent White Viva Pearl Pen and jewelry supplies.

I used the following stamps from Blockheads Paper Arts: Waves and Chinese text from the Chinese Princess set and the Seahorse from the Seashells with Round Sand Frame set.

My necklace is also reversible!  For an all silver look just turn the necklace and the fish charm around!
I had a blast creating this project and it really is quite easy to do.  Begin by designing the layout of various sized Grungeboard circles and then paint each one with a combination of Green Patina and Blue Smoke Perfect Pearls mixed with very small amounts of water.  The PP dries very fast on the Grungeboard so you can go onto the next fairly quickly.  Ink up the stamps with Jet Black StazOn ink and stamp the images onto the circles.  Then edge and colour the backs of each circle with a metallic silver paint pen.  I used DecoColor Liquid Silver.

Add dimensional 'water droplets' to the circles with the Magic Transparent White Viva Pearl Pen.
The droplets are opaque and then magically transform once dry.  In the photos below you can see them while they're still wet and then the last set of photos shows how some turned transparent with sparkle and others look like silver pearls.  So effective!

Punch tiny holes into the circles and connect each one to the next with silver jump rings.  Add silver chain and complete the look with a silver fish charm.

I hope you enjoyed checking out my asymmetrical amulet!  Thanks for stopping by ;0)
