Getting ready for a steampunk costume Tea Party.....

Who is in the mood for a little fairytail story?

Once upon another day in Wonderland some very quirky characters are excitedly getting ready to attend a steampunk themed costume Tea Party.

Let's take a peek at each character and see what they're planning to wear to such a bizarre event!

Look at this oh so handsome kitty cat...allow me to introduce you to the host of the tea party, the Mad Hatter!  Doesn't he cut a dashing character in his handsome outfit with his new steampunk inspired hat made just for the occasion!   ssshhh, don't let him know we've caught him modeling in front of his mirror doing his best Travolta move ;0)

The Mad Hatter is from Blockheads Paper Arts' brand new Steampunk-esque "Fringe Folktails" stamp set and in celebration of the launch the set is currently on sale for $12!

Stamp Puss with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colour with the following Copic Sketch markers:
Fur: W1, 3 and 5, Waistcoat: R27, 39 and 46, Boots/Hat/Belt: E13, 15, 18 R39, 46, Y17, 23, RV10, 13, Hat Details and Goggles: C0, 3 and 5.

Complete the look with touches of metallic silver and antique gold Promarkers with hightlights of white gel pen.  Add a small amount of Judikins Diamond Glaze to the glass areas of the goggles.  Completely cut out the entire image with a pair of sharp detail scissors.

Okay, lets tip toe off quietly and see who else we can spy on.....

Happy Stamping!

Getting 'Alice' Arty with Paper Artsy - Blockheads DT projects

Hello Everyone!

This week I had the pleasure of playing around with a great stamp image from the Paper Artsy by Lynne Perella collection now available at Blockheads Paper Arts!  My fellow DT mates are also creating with Paper Artsy stamps so check out the growing inlinkz collection at the end of my post for more great ideas!

I adore all things Alice and you might have even spotted her featured on my blog logo above ;0)  I'm always in the mood for creating Alice in Wonderland themed projects and I've submitted some to the Just Steampunk II call so hopefully you'll get to see them soon, keep your fingers crossed ;0)  I had a blast creating the two paper art pieces above using the same image from the Royalty LPC007 set.

Hello Everyone!

I hope you're all having a fabulous week and enjoying your summer vacations!!

As Challenge Coordinator I'm hosting a new challenge over at Third Coast Rubber Stamps brand new blog and you're all invited to come and play with me ;0)  TCCC#2 starts August 1st and its a fan favourite, an Anything Goes challenge!  Which means the theme is open to whatever your heart desires...however, I did throw in a twist ;0)  You must use the colour Yellow in some way, whether it be incorporated into your coloured images or you use yellow cardstock or flowers or ribbon...you get the idea!

I was inspired by all the glorious warm weather we are having...aahhhh...to create this sun drenched, summer party time card to get you all in the mood for creating with YELLOW!

"Memory Fragments of A Lovely Day" Artistic Outpost projects Part 2!

Hi Everyone!
I'm having fun with Artistic Outpost stamps this week and yesterday I shared my "Touch of British" vintage grunge card and I'm back today with my 2nd project titled "Memory Fragments of A Lovely Day".

I love the feeling of the warm glow of summer filled with wonderful memories invoked by the colours of the card!  I had to show you the side view first coz that one shows the richness of the 'true' colours, especially the pearlized pale yellow cardstock I used on the left hand side of the card.  You can see in the front view below that my camera just wouldn't capture the yellow colour properly at that angle and makes it look more peach!  I tried but just couldn't get the colours to show up properly, darn it :0(

I used the Windmill, Tulips and the sentiment images from the same stamp set called A Lovely Day.  Artistic Outpost rubber stamps are now available in the Blockheads Paper Arts store so go check them out!

"Touch of British" Grunge card featuring Artistic Outpost Stamps!

Hello Everyone!
Well I had planned to make a Diamond Jubilee card in June while all the festivities were underway but I just didn't get around to it but now we've got the Olympic Games going on in the UK so here's a Diamond Jubilee slash British inspired card with a touch of vintage grunge!

Update:  Woohoo!  "Touch of British" made Top 5 at Try it on Tuesday :0)

Today I'm featuring Artistic Outpost stamps!  If you love the old world grunge style then you're going to want to check out these fab vintage stamps over in the Blockheads Paper Arts store!  This is the first of a few Artistic Outpost projects so check back again tomorrow to see what else I've been up to ;0)

I used the Girl with Crown collage image from the A Lovely Day set.

I incorporated more fabric stamping into these too....just a quickie reminder that Blockheads Paper Arts' Fabric Stamping Technique Challenge closes on Saturday July 21st, so hurry in those entries for the chance to win some fab prizes!

"Ice Nymph" Third Coast Creative Coterie card

Happy Saturday Everyone!
First I want to say welcome to all my new followers, I'm so pleased you guys enjoy my art :0)

added note:  Ice Nymph made Top 3 at Divas by Design..Woohoo!

Here's my 2nd Christmas card project for the week and this one was made as inspiration for the Third Coast Creative Challenge Blog I'm coordinating on behalf of Third Coast Rubber Stamps!

Do you remember the birthday card I made for my sister a few weeks ago using one of Third Coast's newest images called Spring's Muse?

My sister absolutely loved her card and I love this rubber stamp so much I had to use it again but this time I transformed Spring into an Ice Nymph ;0)  There is a Winter's Muse stamp available but I don't have that one...yet ;0)...so I decided to winterize the same image just by using a wintery colour scheme and embellishments!  I LOVE how it turned out and I think you just might see some more of my favourite Muse in a rainbow of colours in the
future ;0)  You can check out my post for the card above here!

Blockheads ETP Challenge Ends June 21st!

Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a fabulous Father's Day weekend ;0)
Just a quickie reminder that my ETP Technique Challenge over at Blockheads Paper Arts closes this Wednesday!  Don't let those awesome prizes get away from you!

Don't know what ETP stands for?  It's Embossed Toilet Paper...yep, it's still a shocker seeing toilet paper mentioned in a stamping related post LOL :0)

The ETP needs some time to dry coz you use lots of water with your embossing folders to create really unique handmade papers to be used as backgrounds or embellishments so start embossing now!!

Check out my tutorial on Blockheads' Rubber Stamping Techniques page.

Play around, have loads of fun and then share your creations by entering the Blog Hop Technique Challenge on Blockheads' Blog for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate, there's a code you need to add to your blog for your entry to count but its super easy to do and all the info is located on the techniques page, and if you don't have a blog you can also enter via our Facebook Group instead for a chance to win your choice of a 4" x 5" set of Blockheads' stamps cut on cling cushion!  Awesome right!  So what do you say, want to play with us?!

You don't have to use Blockheads stamps to enter but of course we'd love it if you did and you don't even have to own an embossing/die cutting machine either if you've got a friend who will let you borrow an embossing folder, or better yet, persuade her to take the challenge too and make a day of it ;0)  The challenge closes on June 21st so you've only got a few days left!

Check out my ETP projects and the ones created by my fellow Blockheads Design Team mates PLUS the awesome entries submitted so far by clicking on the links in the inlinkz collection below!
I look forward to seeing yours there shortly too ;0)

Melt Art Fun with Ranger's Texture Treads!

Happy Friday Everyone!
I've been having a fantastic time playing around with one of Ranger's new Melt Art Texture Treads.  I've got a variety of projects to share using the Floral Flourish Texture Tread which is now available through Blockheads Paper Arts.  They have 4 of the 6 available designs for you to choose from.  If you haven't played around with UTEE for a while you're going to want to dust off your Melting Pots and give these new Texture Treads a whirl!

What is a Texture Tread you ask, well basically it's a design on a sheet of black flexible rubber that will withstand the heat of the UTEE.  We've all played around with pressing our rubber stamps into melted UTEE many times but what's really unique about these rubber sheets is that the same design comes embossed on one side and then debossed as a mirror image-negative on the same Texture Tread!  How cool is that!

For my first project I made a bracelet with gold UTEE and the Floral Texture Tread and poured the UTEE directly onto the Tread.

An Elegant Card for a Special Occasion using my ETP for Blockheads' Technique Challenge

Happy Friday Everyone!

Just one more sleep to go until the weekend so just in case you're attending a special event here's an elegant card idea for you!  This design is pretty with soft hues and would be suitable for a wedding or an anniversary and even a girl's graduation card!  But for me it's a wedding card and the use of the goddess is a fun alternative to an image of a bride ;0)

I think I've taken toilet paper to a whole new level of elegance here don't you!  Yep, you read that right, I used another one of my handmade embossed toilet paper creations for the background.  I used an Art Deco Cuttlebug embossing folder on this one and was inspired to go with an Art Nouveau colour scheme and the layout of the sketch challenge #148 over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I used the goddess frieze from the Greco-Roman sheet (top right) and the Congratulations sentiment from my favourite Verses sheet.  Both are exclusive Blockheads Paper Arts' sets.
