I printed the Oddleigh New Year Elf and Fireworks scene out onto mixed media cardstock then had lots of fun painting her with aqua pencils. I used a metallic gold gel pen on her party hat tassels and the Happy New Year senti on her sign. For lots of pretty sparkle I added crystal Stickles to her party hat tassles, snowflakes and the hat rim as well as the snowflake on her dress.
I then painted the background and fireworks with Spectrum Noir Sparkle glitter brush pens.
The glitter has an encrusted texture to it and super sparkly in real life. I also added crystal Stickles to the Fireworks for even more sparkle.
To get the effect of bursts of fireworks light mixed in with snowfall I created a mottled distressed look by splashing the background with water and removing paint with paper towel. I then added white snowflake speckles with a white Dylusions paint pen and splattered the entire scene with Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain. I then edged the panel with Spectrum Noir Midas gold pigment ink and matted it onto black cardstock and then mounted everything onto a panel of Distress Oxide Sprayed background cardstock I'd previously made and had in my stash. I then completed the card by edging the Distress Oxide panel with Black Soot Distress Ink.
