Hello Friends!
Shabby chic is this month's featured style and the Blockheads Paper Arts' design team has a variety of projects for you to try! Today I'm sharing a shabby chic vintage travel themed swing card created with a Distress Inks watercolour technique.
I used the following Blockheads exclusive stamps:
Vintage Travel, Flowers-Daisies and Feeling Regal.
Make 4.5" x 6.25" swing card out of a sheet of rust coloured cardstock. Cut 4 U shaped panels and 2 rectangle panels for the centers out of watercolour paper. Stamp the Daisy Chain border directly onto the vertical center panel of the swing card on both sides with Walnut Distress Ink and apply Black Soot Distress Ink to all the edges and folds creases with a foam ink applicator too.
Collage stamp all the travel images from the Vintage Travel set with the decorative flourish image from the Feeling Regal set onto all 4 U shaped panels and the large Daisies from the Flowers-Daisies onto the 2 rectangle panels with Walnut Distress Ink. But stamp each image in stages and do the watercolouring before continuing on. This way the ink is still wet enough to create a wonderful vintage watercolour effect. I used a Niji Watercolour brush filled with water to gently work at the images until I liked the result. All the panel edges were then tattered with Tim's Paper Distresser tool and Spun Sugar Distress Ink applied to all the edges. Adhere all the panels to the card with your favourite craft glue or double sided tape. My favourite glue of choice is Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive. Before adhering the front left panel I added the pink satin ribbon and completed my card with the ribbon tied in a double bow.
