Winter Wonderland Inspiration: "Yeti Winter Wishes" mixed media Card by Val

"Yeti Winter Wishes"

Val is here today with a beautiful frosty mixed media card depicting a wonderful Yeti themed scene which is the perfect inspiration for our Winter Wonderland Challenge this month which is all about the beauty of the Winter months from snowflakes to snow filled scenes including Christmas cards if you've begun your 2024 Christmas card making already, LOL!
 
 
You can just feel the frosty air in Val's Winter Wonderland scene with the 2 adorable Yeti's looking very cozy and festive in their scarves and little sprigs of holly!  
 
 
Val used the Yeti from the Winter Yeti Build-a-Scene set combined with the Scarf, Holly and "Have a Very Yeti Christmas" senti from the A Very Yeti Christmas Festive Add-On Pack to create her scene.  She printed out the Yeti in 2 sizes plus the senti and coloured everything with Promarkers, fussy cut them out and then embellished everything with Sakura Glitter pens and Stampendous Frosted Glitter. 


To make her mixed media card Val created her scene with Texture Paste and Stampendous Frosted Glitter applied to a top fold card made from heavy weight white cardstock.  She added colour with Distress Oxide inks and die cut "Winter Wishes" words.  The Yeti adhered with foam tape completed the scene.

Winter Wonderland Inspiration: "Let It Snow" Winter Sparkle Snowflakes SVG Cutz Card by Val

"Let it Snow"
 Winter Sparkle Snowflakes SVG Cutz

Our Winter Wonderland Challenge this month is all about the beauty of the Winter months from snowflakes to snow filled scenes of every kind including Christmas cards if you've begun your 2024 Christmas card making already!  Val is here today with a fabulous Snowflake card featuring one set from my line of Winter Sparkle Snowflake SVG Cutz sets and the "Pastel Blizzard" Decorative Digi Paper pack released in the Poinsettia and Holly Christmas 2023 Collection.
 
To make her elegantly dramatic Snowflake topper Val used the largest of the 3 Snowflakes included in the Winter Sparkle Snowflakes Set #3 and #4 set.  Using her Silhouette Portrait 3 electronic cutting machine she cut the multi-layered Snowflake out of white cardstock and coloured some in shades of blue with Promarkers.  The Snowflakes are hand drawn and not symmetrical so match up each layer as you assemble or you can freestyle the layering like Val did here.  She then embellished the intricate white overlay Snowflake, that's the top one, with Tim Holtz Distress Stickles Dry Clear Rock Candy Glitter applied with a Quickie Glue pen for lots of frosty sparkle.
 

To make her top fold card Val printed out the Pastel Blue design included in the "Pastel Blizzard" Decorative Digi Paper pack on greeting card weight white cardstock.  
 
 
She then adhered the Snowflake partially beyond the top fold line with foam tape for dramatic effect.
 
 
 Val completed her frosty Snowflake card with the "Let it Snow" senti from the A Charming Christmas Compendium of Festive Sayings set which includes 17 Christmas and Winter themed sentiments and sayings.  She trimmed the senti with scalloped scissors, edged it with a pastel blue Promarker and then embellished it with clear Rocky Candy glitter too.

  • You can make anything you want following the current theme:  paper crafts, mixed media, rubber or digi stamping...whatever makes your muse happy is welcome! 
  • Your blog posts or social media shares must include the Challenge details and link directly to the current challenge post.  It is optional but appreciated to also include the current Challenge badge in your post!
  • Prizes are based on participation so the more you play the better the prizes so encourage all your crafty friends to come and play too!
