Day 1 of 31 Days of Halloween
THIS IS HALLOWEEN
SVG Cutz Book

I'm kicking off 31 Days of Halloween 2023 with my SPOOKtacular THIS IS HALLOWEEN Book featuring SVG Cutz and Decorative Digi Papers from my new THIS IS HALLOWEEN 2023 Collection! I plan to fill the book with a selection of past 31 Days of Halloween makes as well as a few new ones from this year 🎃
I've got the faBOOlous front cover and book spine to show you today!
The main focal point of the book cover is my faBOOlous Gothic 31 SVG Cutz set.
First I printed out my orange digi paper with the "This is Halloween" pattern from the new "This is Halloween" Decorative Digi Paper pack and cut the overlay from it, the shadow layer from purple glitter paper by Scrapbook.com and the mat layer from black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo 4 electronic cutting machine.
I then cut two of the THIS IS HALLOWEEN book covers from my THIS IS HALLOWEEN Make-a-Book SVG Cutz kit - with one of them as a mirror image so any imperfections are on the back.
To make my front book cover nice and strong I sandwiched a sheet of Crafter's Companion construction acetate between the cut cover pieces with the mirror image one used on the inside.
Next I cut the mat and layers for the book cover included in the THIS IS HALLOWEEN Make-a-Book SVG Cutz kit. The top layer is cut from the orange "31 Days of Halloween" sheet from my 31 Days of Halloween Decorative Digi Paper pack, and the mat layers from black cardstock and Crafter's Companion linen textured purple cardstock.
I applied Spectrum Noir metallic gold pigment ink to the edges of the printed layer and the purple layer for a touch of vintage metallic bling.
I also cut out just the THIS IS HALLOWEEN letters from the same purple glitter paper and adhered them to the book cover.
I made the spine of my book from two sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch heavy weight black construction cardstock (Crafter's Companion) and constructed an accordion fold spine.
I covered the book spine with another print of my orange "31 Days of Halloween" paper from the 31 Days of Halloween Decorative Digi Paper pack, edged it in metallic gold and decorated it with the word HALLOWEEN die cut with Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Stretch Upper dies and Tim Holtz Bat Crazy dies. The vintage sticker is by Recollections and I plan to write the book content details there once it's full.
I embellished the center of the layered Gothic 31 SVG Cutz element with a metal Tim Holtz Halloween Ideaology spider and adhered a green crystal to the hole to match the die cut title letters on the book cover.
My book cover says "31 Days of Halloween" and I die cut "Days of Halloween" from a green sheet of my decorative digi paper and Tim Holtz Wood Slice die set and more of Tim's bats. I also used Spellbinders Pumpkin Accent dies to die cut the two pumpkin corner pieces and the two vine flourishes from black cardstock and applied Spectrum Noir metallic gold gilding wax to the pieces.
