Geisha Doll and Lace Corner Cutz

Cherry Blossom ATCs

LeighSBDesigner Val's Cherry Blossom Mer-Ween Hop inspiration for you today are two gorgeous Geisha Doll themed ATCs with lacy corner pockets featuring the following from my new Cherry Blossom Collection:

Kitty Geisha Doll, Parasol Geisha Doll, the Cherry Blossom Corners SVG Lace Cutz set and the Japanese Clouds background digi stamp!

 

Here Val used both Geisha Dolls from the Cherry Blossom Collection Print and Cutz sets with the largest of the included offset borders that fussy cuts out the printed images with a narrow white border around them.  The white border really makes the Geisha Dolls pop against the Japanese Clouds digi stamp background.  Val then tucked the lovely Geisha Dolls into the lacy corner pockets for dramatic effect.  Val used the lace corner element overlay aka top layer cut from white cardstock and the shadow lace layer cut from black cardstock to make her pretty corner pockets.  She then matted each ATC onto a black mat to complete them. 

 

 

Val used the following to create these beauties:

Spectrum Noir Tri-blends:

Magenta, Emerald, Ice Grey, Brown Grey

Hobby Craft Smooth white cardstock

Hobby Craft Black cardstock

White Gel Pen

Cherry Blossom Kitty Geisha Doll

Mom's Day card

My Cherry Blossom Mer-Ween hop inspiration for you today is a Mother's Day card featuring the following from my new Cherry Blossom Collection:

Kitty Geisha Doll Print and Cutz set, the Cherry Blossom Branch Print and Cutz set, the Cherry Blossom Rectangle Frame SVG Lace Cutz set, the Mother's Day senti from the Parasol Geisha Doll set and the Japanese Clouds background digi stamp!

 

 I coloured Kitty Geisha Doll and the Cherry Blossom Branch in Adobe Fresco then using their Print and Cutz sets I used my Silhouette Cameo 4 to print and cut out both designs plus their mat layers.  Layer 1 is cut from light peach cardstock and Layer 2 from black cardstock and used as a shadow mat layer.

 

 

 I used Diamond Stickles glitter glue to add pretty sparkle to all the cherry blossoms.

 

 

 I designed my gorgeous new Cherry Blossom Rectangle Frame SVG Lace Cutz set to be the perfect frame for a 5 x 7 inch card.  For this make I used all the layers included in the set except for the lace shadow layer:  the lace overlay (top layer) is cut from white cardstock, mat #1 cut from light peach cardstock and mat #2 as a shadow layer cut from black cardstock.  

 

 

I used the Japanese Clouds background Digi Stamp coloured with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink for my background and then embellished the Cherry Blossom lace with Diamond Stickles glitter glue and Cream Viva Pearl 3D paint for lots of pretty sparkle.

 

 

The "Happy Mother's Day" senti is included in the Parasol Geisha Doll set. 

 

 

I used pop dots to adhere Kitty Geisha Doll, the Cherry Blossom Branch and the senti to the frame for lots of dimensional drama.

 

I then mounted the Cherry Blossom Rectangle Frame onto a card base made from heavy weight peach cardstock.

Cherry Blossom Medallion

Lace Cutz 3D Ornament

LeighSBDesigner Val's Cherry Blossom Mer-Ween hop inspiration for you today is an exquisite Cherry Blossom lace hanging ornament featuring my new Cherry Blossom Medallion SVG Lace Cutz set.

Val used the gorgeous lace medallion overlay and the lace shadow layer to create this very unique 3D ornament.  She folded each layer in half and joined the 2 layers together down the center to create the 3D shape.  To give the delicate lace cuts more structure Val applied multiple coats of clear embossing powder to each side of the ornament then added sparkle with Stickles glitter and finished off by hanging the ornament from a length of white and silver baker's twine.

 

 

Val used the following to create this unique ornament!

Day 2
"April Showers Bring May Flowers"

Cherry Blossom card

My Cherry Blossom Mer-Ween hop inspiration for you today features my new Parasol Geisha Doll Print and Cutz set, the Cherry Blossom Branch Print and Cutz set, the Cherry Blossom Square Frame SVG Lace Cutz set and Japanese Clouds background digi stamp from my new Cherry Blossom Collection!

 

I coloured Parasol Geisha Doll and the Cherry Blossom Branch in Adobe Fresco and the Japanese Clouds background is coloured with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and I used Spectrum Noir clear Glitter Sparkle pen to add pretty shimmer to the clouds.

 

 

 I then printed them on my home printer and cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo 4 using my new Silhouette Studio Print and Cutz versions.

 

 

I used the Parasol Geisha Doll and Cherry Blossom Branch versions with the widest white offset border.

 

The fabulous "April Showers Bring May Flowers" senti in a Japanese inspired font is included in the Parasol Geisha Doll set.

 

To make the card frame I used my gorgeous new Cherry Blossom Square Frame Lace Cutz set and Japanese Clouds background Digi Stamp.

 

 

 I used the delicate Lace overlay aka the top layer cut from white cardstock, the first mat cut from a pale peach cardstock and then the 2nd mat as a shadow layer cut from black cardstock.  Then added pretty sparkle to the Cherry Blossoms with Diamond Stickles glitter glue.

 

TIPS

🌸 As the design is completely hand drawn each side edge of the cuts is different so you do need to match up the layers before gluing them together😉

🌸 Cardstocks can make or break your project and do make a huge difference to the success of your cuts.  Always test your cardstocks as well as your cutting machine's settings to ensure you don't waste entire sheets in a failed cut!  For the delicate lace cutz I use 80lb weight cardstock.  

🌸 The delicate lace overlay can be adhered with glue applied with a very fine tip, dotty tapes that apply tiny glue dots to just the lace or cut from adhesive backed cardstocks.

I used Mat Layers #1 cut from black cardstock to mount my Parasol Geisha Doll, Cherry Blossom Branch and Senti on and painted them with Spectrum Noir clear Glitter Sparkle pen to add the pretty shimmer.

I embellished all the blossoms on the Geisha Doll and the Branch with Diamond Stickles glitter glue for lots of pretty sparkle!

 

 

I mounted the Square Frame onto a top fold square card base I made from heavy weight white cardstock and then I adhered the Parasol Geisha Doll, Cherry Blossom Branch and Senti to the card with pop dots.

 

 

The finished card is both dramatic and ever so pretty with all the shimmery glitter and sparkle.  I'm going to try and capture the beauty in a little video😉
