"Frames of Your Life" card for Lost Coast Designs DT!

Howzit Everyone!
Here's a card I made for Lost Coast Portal to Creativitys mid-month Challenge #25 reminder for Use Something See Through!  I went with using a piece of clear acetate recycled from a package, in this case it was an embossing folder's case and I wanted the film strip on the front to be slightly crooked and the overall look to be distressed so I made this card grungy, non-perfect yet beautiful at the same time...just like Life.  The sentiment is of my own invention and hand written with a black Micron pen.

I used Lost Coast Designs' small Film Strip, 3 mini Birds and the 2" Grunge Border.

I stamped the Grunge border on the front of the card with Tea Dye Distress Ink and over stamped the film strip in Onyx Black Versafine ink just slighly crooked...I wasn't going for perfect.   I cut out 2 of the openings with an Xacto knife, made some registration marks with a pencil on the inside and stamped the birds inside the card so their heads showed in the film strip frames.  I stamped the film strip inside the card as well and applied Tea Dye and Black Soot DI and a Tea Dye Distress Marker to create the grunged up watercolour effect.  I stamped the film strip onto the acetate with black StazOn ink and applied Alcohol Inks to the other side in shades of red and yellow for the fun splash of colour.  I trimmed the acetate film strip and adhered it to the front of the card with 2 tiny white brads.  I finished off by distressing the edges of the card and applied Black Soot DI.

Our challenges start on the first Monday of every month so stop by Lost Coast Portal to Creativity July 4th for our next challenge and I hope you'll stay to play with us!

"Nap Time" Father's Day card for the Rick St Dennis EDT!

Howzit Everyone!
I'm sharing another kitty themed Rick St Dennis Elite Design Team project today using Nap Time.
My precious Daddy would have loved this card for Father's Day and I was thinking of him while I made it.

I started out by horizontally flipping the digi in Photoshop CS6 and sizing the image.  I then printed it out twice on Neenah solar white cardstock and coloured the main image and a portion of the 2nd print with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  I fussy cut out the right hand side of the main image & the coloured portion of the second and used brown Derwent pastel pencil blended with a Dove blender pen to colour the background on the the left.

To create the 3D layered part of the card I adhered the fussy cut portion of the chair, man and kitties with pop dots and then completed the card with the fabulous crossword puzzle from the 12 x 12 DCWV's Heirloom Stack patterned paper adhered to the right hand side of the card.  I chose the part that says Relaxation and Afternoon and from another part of the paper I cut out Nap and layered it onto a piece of cardstock coloured black and then layered it with pop dots too.

I finished the card off by distressing the edges and applying just a touch of Black Soot Distress Ink to frame it.  I love the warm cozy feel of the finished card and all the sleeping kitties!

Thanks for stopping by to see my project today!

SKELLIE-FEST altered container for Lost Coast Designs!

Happy Monday the 13th!
Today is my turn to share some Lost Coast Designs DT inspiration over on our Lost Coaster's Review DT blog.  My post is a mini tutorial on how I made my Skull Appreciation Day skellie altered container which was also my Day 1 project for our 2nd annual SKELLIE-FEST event over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!  Today is the finale but you've still got chance to win our $20 spending spree at Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!  Just enter your skeleton themed projects in the linky party by midnight PST!  You can use any company stamps but you can double your chances if you use Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps, click HERE for all the details!

I used my fave two Lost Coast Designs skellie stamps on this project:
Skeleton and Roses, Skull Flourish plus the Long Swirl flourish stamp was used to create a subtle background.  For more info on how I created my container please pop over to Lost Coaster's Review for my tutorial.

I found this unfinished wooden container in the craft section at Target and just loved the triangular sides.  The skull feet are from a Halloween decoration, they finished it off nicely don't you think.  I love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by today to see my project and don't forget to enter your skeleton themed projects in our SKELLIE-FEST event by midnight PST tonight!

"Cat-A-Pult" card for Rick St Dennis EDT

Howzit Everyone!
It's time to share some Rick St Dennis Elite Design Team inspiration!  You may have noticed that I love cats so I just had to create with Rick's Cat-A-Pult digi!  This one is definitely dark and twisty, if those kitties are going flying then me and this elegant lady are going to have words!  Put those puttycats down right this minute!!!!  UHO, I don't like that eyebrow attitude one bit...I'm ready to catch the kitties!

I printed the digi out on Neenah solar white cardstock off to the right side of the cardstock in landscape and coloured her with a combination of Copics, Marvy Le Plume permanent markers and Prismacolor pencils with additional highlights done with a white gel pen.  The background is Derwent brown pastel pencil blended with a Dove blender pen.  I added Viva Pearl magic transparent white to her jewels for a bit of dimension and sparkle.

I turned this one into a card by scoring and folding the white cardstock and for a change I decided to add a folded sheet of colour coordinating brown cardstock to the inside of the card instead of cutting and matting so the brown border only shows on 3 sides.

Thanks for stopping by to see my project today!

Tea Addication Too

My S.A.D project today is the 2nd in a mini series I'm working on called "Tea Addication" for the Rick St Dennis Elite DT.  I do love a good cup of tea and Alice in Wonderland and Skulls, combine them all and this is what you get, heheheheh ;0)  Click on all the photos for a closer look.

I couldn't resist showing off my new Alice, she's a Pullip doll called Sepia Alice from the Romantic AIW line.
I performed digi magic in Photoshop CS6 and merged two RSD images, "What's Left After" and "Mad Tea Party" and printed out onto Neenah solar white cardstock.   I used Copics, Prismacolor pencils and a white gel pen to colour the image and Derwent Chalk pencils blended with a Dove Blender Pen on the background.  I also applied Tea Dye and Black Soot Distress inks to the background and added more shading around the image with a Prismacolour pencil as well.  I layered the design onto blue cardstock, then onto black cardstock and decorated the two corners with a Sizzix accent die cut from black cardstock.  I couldn't resist adding some dimensional shimmer and applied Viva le Pearl transparent magic white to the spiderweb.

Here's my 1st "Tea Addiction" project
