Finale of our Lost Coast Designs New Stamp Showcase - Watercoloured Floral cards

Howzit Friends!
I've been having a blast with my fellow Lost Coast Designs DT members over on our Lost Coast Portal to Creativity Blog for the last 2 weeks showing off our new Lost Coast Designs stamps with a "New Stamps Showcase" event!  We hope you have enjoyed and been inspired by our projects every day!  If you've missed the fun then pop on over and start on Day 1 and also check out our NEW IMAGES at Lost Coast Designs, they are so freaking awesome you're going to want them all!

We are giving away one of our new stamps!  Visit and comment on all the New Stamp Showcase posts from January 18 through to today and let us know what you think of our featured projects.  Readers who comment every day of the event and then tell us today which new stamp is their favourite will be entered into a random draw to win their fave new stamp!!!!
I will announce the winner on Wednesday, Feb 3rd, so you've got time to catch up!

For the finale today I'm sharing a trio of single stemmed floral cards.
I used the following new Lost Coast Designs stamps:
Open Rose, Tulip, Doodle Flowers and Misc Words as well as the Little Diamonds background.

I made 3 fussy cut floral cards, 2 tall and skinny plus 1 small gift card, using the Distress Inks watercolour technique.  The flowers were stamped on watercolour paper with black Versafine ink and coloured with Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Mustard Seed Distress Inks.

I made the tall and skinny folded card bases from white cardstock and stamped those with the Doodle Flowers in Mustard Seed DI.  I then cut away the entire right hand side of all 3 cards.

Transform them with single "word" sentiments!
The photo below shows them closed with the diamond stamped interiors now visible in the cut outs making the front and insides all part of the overall design.  I used Sage VersaMagic ink to stamp the interiors but first I stamped onto scrap paper to remove some ink for a more distressed effect.

Thanks for visiting with me today, now don't forget to pop by all the New Stamps Showcase posts starting from the January 18 post and leave us lots of love for the chance to win your fave new stamp!
Are you ready?  GO! ;0)

Happy Stamping!

Steampunk digital art using an iPad - DT post for Forever Dark Challenges!

Howzit Everyone!
Our current challenge over at Forever Dark Challenges is Anything Goes with an optional twist and January is STEAMPUNK!

We have 2 fabulous sponsors this month

That Craft Place
And

You can see the projects I made for That Craft Place HERE and HERE!
Today I'm sharing the project I made for Stitchy Bear Stamps using this fabulous lady called Steampunk - 3 piece set by BBKakes.

I've been working on developing my skills in using an awesome application called Paper 53 and colouring on my iPad using a stylus.  Contrary to popular belief, doing digital art in Photoshop or similiar applications is not cheating or easy to do in the slightest and all who do digital work agree, it can be even more time consuming than doing traditional colouring on paper with markers and coloured pencils!  It is also super fun to have if you travel a lot and can't take all your supplies with you.  I was in the UK for Christmas when I started working on this one and it probably took me a total of 6 hours to complete so I'm getting better at it and I'm now developing my style on how I like to digi colour.

I got a new stylus for Christmas that I just LOVE!!!!  It's a PAINT BRUSH, squeal of delight!!!!!
The stylus is by Sensu and it's a paint brush and stylus two-in-one!

I used the brush part to lay down a watercolour base with the watercolour brush app tool and then a combination of the brush and the stylus to colour with the pencil app tool.  A LOT of colouring took place here and I'm really thrilled with how this project turned out :0)

See you over at Forever Dark Challenges and Have a great weekend!
Happy Stamping!

Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop: A Dream Within A Dream by Leigh!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to my Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop!

Recently the Mayor of Baltimore declared Poe's birthday, January 19, an official city-wide Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Day so I decided to celebrate with an impromptu blog hop!  The hop starts today and because it's spur of the moment this will be a progressive hop spanning over the next 5 days and you can join the hop at any time, no need to sign up!  You have until midnight PST on January 23 to join the fun!

Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda are sponsoring this hop, but ALL stamps of Poe and related imagery by other companies can be used, and one participating blog will be randomly selected to win a $10 gift certificate to spend at LCD/CV!  For all the info on how to join in the hop please click HERE!

Today I'm sharing a handwritten and rubber stamp illustrated poem by Edgar Allan Poe
"A Dream Within A Dream"

Awarded Top 3 at Quoth the Raven Challenge blog

I stamped Poe from Carmen's Veranda onto watercolour paper with a combination of Black Soot and Tea Dye Distress Inks and created a watercolour painting using a water brush.  Once dry I added the journaling segments using Lost Coast Designs large journaling stencil and applied Tea Dye and Black Soot Distress Inks with an foam ink applicator.  I hand wrote the poem with a black Micron pen and added white details with white acrylic paint.  I trimmed the painting and distressed the edges with Tim's Paper Distresser tool before layering it onto black and brown cardstocks and then framed it.  My Poe Living Dead doll and his Raven are pleased with it I think, LOL :0)

Thanks for visiting with me today and I hope you will enjoy my Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop!  We will do this again next year so mark your calendars ;0)  Now off you hop to the next project in the Inlinkz Collection below and don't forget to comment each day for the chance to win that $10 LCD/CV spending spree!

I now submit my offering to
Quoth the Raven - Anything Goes
Dream in Darkness - Anything Goes

Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop!

Hello Fans of Poe!

Recently the Mayor of Baltimore declared Edgar Allan Poe's birthday, January 19, an official city-wide Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Day so let's join the fun and celebrate Poe Appreciation Day with an impromptu blog hop!
The hop starts tomorrow, January 19 at 9am PST, and because it's spur of the moment this will be a progressive hop spanning over 5 days and you can join the hop at any time, no need to sign up!  You have until midnight PST on January 23 to join the fun!

All stamps of Poe and related imagery by other companies can be used!
Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda are sponsoring this hop and one participating blog will be randomly selected to win a $10 gift certificate to spend at LCD/CV!

We have lots of crow/raven themed stamps including a Poe himself!  Stop by and check them out!

 How to Play!
Show your appreciation of all things Poe and blog your new or old projects, yes, because this is an impromptu hop, you can enter old projects previously blogged, just re-share them in a new post and if you have zero time to write a new post then, just this once, you can add the Blog Roll code to your old post too.

This is all for fun and a way to show off our love of Poe so I'm not bothering with too many rules!  The only one rule to remember is...incorporate at least one rubber stamped element in your project and then you can go wild and use digis, hand draw, etc!

The Blog Roll is in the form of an Inlinkz collection and the HTML code to use is available HERE!
Simply create your blog post, switch the view to HTML view, copy and paste the code into your post and publish as normal!  The Blog Roll Inlinkz Collection will now be included in your own post and to enter the hop just link up your Poe post by adding it to the Inlinkz collection.  Everyone hopping with us just clicks on the links as they appear over the 5 days and enjoys all the Poe inspired projects on show!

I hope you can join me and play in the blog hop or stop by this week to see all the fabulous Poe themed projects on show!  See you tomorrow!

Lady Steampunk - Forever Dark DT

Howzit Friends!
I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year!
We're kicking of 2016 with a brand new challenge over at Forever Dark Challenge blog!
Challenge #8 is Anything Goes as long as it's Dark with a twist and January is STEAMPUNK!

Our clawesome sponsor this month is That Craft Place and I had the pleasure of creating with a sassy lady called How Do!

Here's 2 projects using her, the first is a candle luminary and the second is a digi creation.

showing the magical transformation in candlelight

The image is coloured with Copic markers and I used a clock embossing folder by Darice on the image and the sides of the luminary which are made from brown cardstock and the design enhanced with Tea Dye and Black Soot Distress Inks.

Here's my 2nd project...a full on digi creation.

I hope I've inspired you to come and join in the fun this year, see you over at Forever Dark!
