Forever Dark DT shares for our July Challenge!

Howzit Friends!
We've had some unfortunate setbacks to our Forever Dark Challenge blog that launched with our 1st Challenge in June but we're back without much of a hiccup.  Nothing else has changed besides our blog name, from Forever Dark Challenges to Forever Dark 2 and new challenges still start on the 1st Tuesday of every month!

Now for our July Challenge #2 Anything Goes!
We have THREE fabulous sponsors this month and it was a pleasure to get to create with the images they provided us with!  Thank you so much sponsors!

I'm sharing two of my projects here featuring Kenny K and Lacy Sunshine and my 3rd project can be found on my DominoART Blog so I hope you'll pop on over to see it :0)
Featuring Trixie Treat by Kenny K
Here's Trixie coloured with Copics and the background is done with Derwent Pastel pencils and a Dove blender pen and she was printed onto Neenah solar white cardstock.  I just adore her, she's so gorgeous!
I used a Spellbinders Deckle edge die to die cut her out and then applied Pumice Stone Distress Ink to the edges.  I used my Perfect Layers tools to cut the border mats and make the black folded card base.  I just wanted to feature this beautiful girl and keep my embellies simple so just added two paper flowers and the 3 self adhesive pearls.
Lacy Sunshine stamps - Puzzle Fairy
My 2nd project features Lacy Sunshine's Puzzle Fairy.  She's a real cutie, I just love her puzzle wings, totally up my alley coz of my passion for altered game art!  Here she is coloured with Copics and Pastel pencils.  Click on the photo to see her better.  But as my project is for our Forever Dark challenge I needed to grunge her up a bit with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and gave her a little bit of "attitude"!  Beware the cuties, they have sharper teeth!
I actually printed her out twice and coloured her wings and the background on one and her entire image on the 2nd but changed my mind on what I was going to do with her so she's layered on top of the 1st with pop dots for dimension.  The background is a jigsaw puzzle die cut with a Cuttlebug puzzle die and I edged all the pieces with a black marker and added metallic purple faux stitching...which you would have seen more of if I'd stuck to my original plan but I didn't have what I needed at the time.  Anyway, I adhered all the pieces to a black mat and layered onto dark red cardstock and also matted the single separate puzzle piece on red and fussy cut it out.  The sentiment I wrote by hand.

So don't forget to check out my other project on DominoART and I'll see you over at Forever Dark Challenges!

"Design Outside the Box" Zentangle Art for Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!

Howzit Friends!
It's time for a new challenge over at
Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!
The July Challenge theme is Zentangles and we challenge you to create your own Zentangle art by incorporating rubber stamps into your design!  You are also now very welcome to enter our challenges using any stamp companies but if you do use any of Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda stamps then your entry will be count as TWO during our DT faves random winner drawing.

Here's my LCDesigner's project to inspire you!  I used a variety of Tangles and Lost Coast Designs Pencils Background stamp as the starting point of my design.

Design Outside the Box
and let your imagination soar!

I stamped the Pencils background with black Memento Ink onto white cardstock, trimmed, distressed the edges and then matted it onto a black mat.  I adhered the pencils panel to another full sheet of white cardstock and just started to Zentangle with a black .05 Micron pen and let the design grow and completed the design with shading in pencil to add shadows and dimension to each section.

If you're unfamiliar with Zentangling or think it's super complicated then trust me it isn't!  Each Tangle is created by performing some basic steps and when you're done you've created a wonderful fractal pattern consisting of repetitive shapes!  You can learn more about Zentangle from the creators Rick and Maria HERE and you can find tons of easy to follow Zentangle patterns on Google!  Give it a go, you'll be surprised at how fun and relaxing it really is and then come and enter our challenge over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity.  You've got until July 25 to submit your Zentangle projects to be in the running for a prize!

Happy Stamping!
