Moth Fae

I used Lost Coast Designs Spread your wings and fly and Tall Trees to create my scary fairy project.  I stamped the fairy image onto neenah solar white cardstock twice, 1st in flannel grey Memento ink and then again with black Memento ink.  I created an eerie misty scene behind the fairy with Prismacolor pencils and you can just make out the architectural building shrouded in the mist that is actually behind her.  It was hard to capture the eeriness of it but it's there!  I also cut the wings to add dimension.

I fussy cut out the 2nd fairy I stamped in black and coloured her and the moths with Copic markers and added white dots to her eyes to enhance the eerie effect and layered her over the misty background.  The trees were stamped with black StazOn ink onto a sheet of acetate and adhered to the top edge of the fairy panel to form the folded card.  I then adhered the two fussy cut moths to the outside of the acetate panel.  I just love how spooky she is as she peers out at you between the trees!

I appreciate your visiting me today and leaving me your love, thank you!!
Your next stop is Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!
Enjoy!

Happy Stamping!

"Spirits of the Dead" Poe art for Forever Dark Challenges DT

Howzit Friends!
I'm back today to share the 2nd project I made for the launch of our new 'dark and twisty' challenge blog called Forever Dark Challenges!  We have TWO fangtastic sponsors this month and we had the pleasure of creating with the digi images they provided us with!  On Tuesday I blogged about the card featuring digi stamps by ArtiDoodles, click HERE to go check it out if you missed it, Teri's images are simply divine!  Now I'm thrilled to share the card made with Ike's fabulous digis!

June 22 Update:  Yay!  This Poe project won the Ike's World #39 Challenge, Squeeee! :0)

Ike is offering 3 digi images

 "Spirits of the Dead"

 "Be silent in that solitude,
   Which is not loneliness—for then
The spirits of the dead who stood
In life before thee are again
In death around thee—and their will
Shall overshadow thee: be still."
E.A. Poe "Spirits of the Dead"

And just for fun my beautiful Gothess, Evangeline Ghastly, wanted to pose with her favourite poet ;0)
I combined the image of the women with the raven "Poe's Death Bed" with "Candle Poe"
in Photoshop CS6 and printed out the image onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.  To create the fancy fold card I scored where I wanted the fold on either side of Poe's head and then fussy cut the portion that was above the scored line with an Xacto knife.  Once his head was free I folded the card in half.
I coloured the images with Copic markers and the background was done with Derwent Pastel pencils and blended with a Dove blender pen.

Come and indulge your dark side and play in our Forever Dark Challenges!

Here's my 1st Smeared and Smudged DT project for today!  I've got another one on my DominoART blog plus 3 more on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity blog which just happen to be your are next 2 stops today!

I used Smeared Ink's rubber stamps on this one.  I decided to pull out my stash of marble background papers created with the shaving cream technique and artists inks in shades of red and grey, I also added Vanilla Smooch Spritz to the marble paper to give it a magical shimmer.  I stamped the skellie for the focal point onto the marble paper with black Memento Ink, trimmed and layered it onto black cardstock and cut the border with my favourite Perfect Layers tools by Perfect Paper Crafting (use my special code LBrunton to get 10% off your entire order).  The large ink splatter background was stamped on white cardstock with Fired Brick and Black Soot Distress Inks and then more Black Soot ink was applied with a foam ink applicator and then adhered to a black mat .  The main panel was embellished with a winged skellie charm and mounted on the background with black foam dots and then I added the self adhesive grey pearls on all 4 corners.

Here's some sneaky peeks at my 3 LCD DT projects made for the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity part of the SAD hop!  Today is also the start of our 1st Skellie-Fest event that runs through to June 18th with a $20 gift certificate to spend at Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!

"Coralyne and the Dragon" - Forever Dark DT project for Challenge #1

Howzit Friends!
Woohoo, the big day is here!  Our Forever Dark Challenges launch today!  Yeah Yeah!
We have TWO fangtastic sponsors this month and we had the pleasure of creating with the digi images they provided us with!

Ike is offering 3 digi images
Teri is offering 3 digi images

Delicious Doodles Stamp

Everybody has a Dark Side and whether you indulge it daily or occasionally let it out to play, or you've never dared to go dark before but want to give it a try then Forever Dark welcomes you, just leave the cute at the door please ;0)  Our challenges are monthly and start on Tuesdays at 9am UK time so do stop by and check us out!  I and my fellow teamies look forward to seeing your dark and twisted creations!

I've got two Forever Dark DT projects featuring digi stamps by both sponsors and I'll be sharing one today and the 2nd tomorrow.

Up first is a fantasy card I made using digi stamps by ArtiDoodles.
Celtic Dragon Frame and  Corvus Coralyne

I made this aperture card by printing out the dragon on a sheet of white cardstock, folded it in half to form the card and cut out the center of the frame.  Coralyne was also printed and I cut out just the portion I wanted seen in the frame.  All the images were coloured with Copics and the backgrounds treated with Fired Brick and Black Soot Distress Inks.  The design on the Celtic frame, the dragon's spikes and claws and Coralyne's jewelry all have metallic silver detailing.  I used Cheery Lynne's Spiderweb die cut in black cardstock to decorate the two corners and the inside of the card.  Now for the magic part....stand the card open and put a flameless votive candle behind it and the whole card comes to life with a magical glow!

The magical glow!
